After a long days travel we arrived at St Croix Guest Cottages and checked in to our charming Cape Dutch style spacious 2 bedroom cottage complete with the ubiquitous cane furniture that adorns most 3 star accommodation in South Africa( it’s like the last 20 years never happened). I thought I would take a quick shower (after avoiding the 3rd...

We stayed for a bachelorette weekend, and were very impressed with the spacious facilities - braai areas, patios, kitchens. The guesthouse was very accommodating, and we decorated the patio for the bachelorette and made ourselves right at home. The one thing we found quite off-putting was the number of signs stuck up all over the house, with rules about what...

St Croix is situated a little way outside of Franschhoek town (+/- 15 mins drive). Ideal if you are hiring a driver or have a designated driver to wine taste for the day (like we did). Because it is outside of town it is more secluded and relaxing. We were a group of 8 friends who stayed in the 2...

The rooms are very spacious, self catering with all the tools you might need. They even provided rusks, which was great as i was starving. Close to many wine farms as well as towns. Staff was very friendly, but farm workers did make me a little uncomfortable as a solo lady traveler. All and all, i had a fantastic time!

We had to attend a wedding in Franschhoek and we could not find suitable accommodation in Franschhoek 2 months prior to the wedding. I found St. Croix by accident on the Internet which was about 12 km from the wedding venue. We received a warm welcome from Ann the farm manager. Very neat and clean self catering apartments. If you...

The cottages are extremely well equipped- a bit far from anyone else if that's what you're looking for....Better still if a few families/friends hire a few adjoining cottages and make a "party" of it- naturally the scenery is outstanding and beautiful Franshhoek only a 10 minute drive away!

The grounds of this estate are gorgeous, and the cottages are lovely and well-equipped. There is a nice (though chilly!) pool as well, with lounge chairs for relaxing. The farm manager, Ann, is very friendly and helpful, and even gave us a tour of the vineyards while she did her rounds inspecting the vines, which was very interesting. There are...
