Such lovely cottage just outside Franschhoek. I stayed there for the Literary Festival recently. The cottages are amongst the vineyards surrounded by mountains. They have a fireplace, lovely big beds and are very comfortable. I have already booked for next year. Recommended.

We have visited Franschhoek, several times and although we had previously tasted the excellent Stony Brook wines, this was our first stay in their cottages. Joy is so kind and helpful and we very much enjoyed our wine tasting and all the information Joy gave us about the wines. We again ordered the Max wine, this time a more mature...

We stayed at Stony Brook cottages for the first time during our recent holiday - lovely, peaceful and relaxing (plus excellent value). Joy was very pleasant and helpful - we enjoyed the wine tasting and also spending time with Max and Chelsea! Can't wait to go back!

My wife and myself called at the last minute to book a cottage. The owner, Joy, couldn't have been more accommodating. She assisted us late on a Sunday, with a beautiful cottage set high up on their property, with beautiful views of the surrounding Mountains. The cottage was practically set out, tastefully decorated and had all the amenities that one...

We spent an amazing time in the Stony Brook cottages. Very special place to spend time away from the city life. There is a glorious swimming pool surrounded by the spectacular mountains. The cottages are well appointed, fabulous crisp white linen. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is a lovely lovely spot with great linen and an accomodating hostess. The views are lovely and the pool most enjoyable. The furnishings and bedding is upmarket. Just about 2km out of the heart of the main town but still close enough to shoot in for that first morning cup of filter coffee. You also get a free wine...

Stayed here for two nights. The cottages are in a secluded patch down a somewhat bumpy road that leads to beautiful scenery and total, blissful seclusion. The cottages themselves as great, especially for the price, with full kitchen and lots of space as well as a small terrace with grill. We were so happy to have this place recommended to...

We Loved our stay here. Pure peace and quiet. Amazing Wine Perfect. Not too far from Franschhoek town but you do need a car. The owner Joy is lovely and our daughter loved the dog Boo. I strongly recommend staying here. We can't wait to return

Joy and her family has been so hospitable to us! We were probably the first Singaporeans to have stayed at the cottage and I must say it's superb! Highly recommend this place to stay. Comes with free wine tasting - the white Sauvignon and dessert wines are very good top. Thanks for the wonderful experience!

We stayed for a night in Cottage 5 which is the family cottage at the top of the hill. Two very comfy rooms (kingsize and twin) both with very nice ensuite bathrooms. Small kitchen and big lounge in the middle, with a big fireplace. There is no TV. Play charades, read, or have a conversation! :) You can walk up...

“There are only 6 cottages and all the rooms are beautiful. There is a bigger one that 2 couples can share both with en suites...............that is where we stayed and that was divine and also closer to the pool,”

“All cottages much the same as far as view/location goes - ask for the big cottage at the top, for a family.”

“Number 3 was great - a small parking area right next to the cottage, and a huge double bed (one of the cottages only has two singles, so ask before booking!), but in general they are all pretty much equally good. Do note: Franschhoek can get very hot in summer, and while a fan was provided, there is no aircon - so if you get hot, this might not be the place for you. All other seasons should be ok, as the temperature drops overnight most nights.”
