A very good and homely place to stay. Marula Lodge is a perfect starting point for trips in the area as far as the de Hoop NP or Cap Agulhas or into the mountains. Breakfast is excellent. We enjoyed our room, the breakfast room and the beautiful garden.

Excellent overnight stay and full breakfast included. Very cold as S.A. Winter but lovely to have hot water bottles ready in the room. Only went for a short walk as travelling through and places closed

This guesthouse is as German as you can get: cleanliness is immaculate, the finish of everything (especially the paintwork) is perfect, and everything works perfectly. Even the bed (two singles pushed together to make a double, with two single duvets) is typical of what one finds in the typical German guesthouse. Unusual for a guesthouse is that the bed linen...

Really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful guesthouse. Room was clean and fresh. Beautiful garden and I really felt welcome upon arrival.Easy access to the rooms for my friend who was still on crutches after a hip replacement! Friendly, helpful hosts and I will certainly recommend Marula Lodge to family and friends.

Nice place, nice people but the beds are for short people only, the duvets for Summer only and the acrylic fake leopard covers not helpful. The lack of good lighting makes your bedtime reading impossible and while the common room looks cozy you have to ask to light the fire and this in SA!

The service was outstanding, the warm welcome, the assistance that I got. The food was delicious and clean. I had a little hiccup with the wifi connection, was glad that I received a spot on assistance.

Good location in Swellendam, helpful staff, very clean room and bathroom, good breakfast, a very nice garden with swimming pool, the owners do an eye for details. Only one thing to keep in mind: the room is rather small, so not suitable to stay in for a part or the whole day. But there is a very spacious lounge.
