Spent 3 nights in this establishment. Breakfasts are great. Suppers are extraordinary good. Vrry good menu. Last evening i had a "bucket" of fresh (not frozen) mussells with a glass of white. Simply magnificent. Love the quant little rooms. More than adequate. Loved it! Will come again any time. My highlight was the Belguim beer. To die for!

Back in August 1998 I stayed at this guesthouse together with my parents. Now 16 years later I was surprised this guesthouse just looked as charming as I remembered it in my dreams. Though the owners changed, I was surprised to find a guestbook in our room, and guess what, I was confronted with my note from -6 years ago... More

We drove past this restaurant and decided to have lunch there. It was a lovely day so we sat outside under the verandah. It's a beautiful setting and the staff are very friendly and makes you feel at home. They have good home cooked food. We had the lamb shank with mashed potatoes and chicken pie with french fries -... We were booked into this accommodation for one night on our way from Grahamstown to Cape Town. Accommodation was comfortable but quite basic but the service and welcome was exceptional. I can think of few places, except top 5 star hotels where you are offered a free welcome drink on arrival, plus a glass of sparkling white with breakfast! It... More

Although we didn't utilize the guest house of this establishment we decided to try their dinner and Belgium beers. My husband and I both decided upon the scampi for starters, and he had the springbok pie for mains, although a little dry the taste was excellent. Service was top class.

Anyone who cares to read my other reviews will discover that I am a critical fellow but I cant rave enough about this place, The property is classic authentic Cape settler with the water furrow running through. One might expect an historic place like this to be run down but everything inside is modern and perfect from the bed to... More

Staff were not only helpfull and courteous but couldn't do enough to make us feel special. The whole ambiance was extremely impressive from the manicured gardens ( very impressed with the running stream through the gardens)to the perfectly... More

We went to this restaurant as a family of 3 and were disappointed with the meal. Childs dish - The sausage was dry, the chips soggy and the salad not really appropriate (big shards of raw onion). Adults dish - My wife and I both had trio of game asking for the small steaks all to be done medium rare.... More

Gorgeous old hotel home-stead style hotel with lovely quaint rooms. We stayed one night on a trip from Cape Town to The Wilderness at the beginning of the garden route. The rooms were small, but clean, and very charming. Gorgeous property. The restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast (included) was a heavenly table setting of delicious home baked breads and... Having read a few reviews, I don't get what others are seeing. I stayed there last night with my son. It was a last minute booking due to a change of plan. The owner, Nikki was wonderful. The food was good. The room was excellent, clean and considering it is very old it had been superbly updated. I've spent 2... More
