We heard about Freedomland from good friends who stayed there some years ago, and after reading the reviews we did not hesitate to book the sunset bungalow. We had 5 great days at this unique place in the jungle but left with a feeling that it had much more potential than it revealed, and that we could have left with...

We just spent 2 nights at Freedomland. It was ok, but we expected a lot more from the reviews we read. It seems to me that the spirit of the place has changed after it was taken over by a new owner. The staff was friendly (especially the chef) but not extraordinary friendly as expected from the reviews. Also our...

Our family had a terrific time at Freedomland! We are so thankful to Tony, the new owner/manager, and to the staff, including the chef and his family, Oanh who was amazing with our children, and Duyen who always went the extra mile to help us find things like aloe vera plants for our son’s sunburn! We stayed in the Sunset...

My family and I stayed at Freedomland for four nights over Christmas with friends who are also a family of four. We had a great time. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. They would run us up and down to the beach on their scooters (which isn't really a very long walk at all). Our room was cleaned...

We did not stay in the Freedomland Resort, but had some cocktails on the beach. We were very pleased with the service. When we ordered a drink, the staff member said that it was not on the menu but knew how to make it, so will prepare it especially for us. He was very pro-active and friendly. We came back...

I stayed here with two friends after new years and we never wanted to leave. The food is absolutely AMAZING and the staff is super duper friendly. I can strongly recommend this place to anyone that loves tranquility and lovely food.

My two kids and I stayed at Freedomland for four nights in December. Our impression was that it was in the jungle far away from development, but really it's a jungle oasis amidst numerous development projects. The food was really good and the atmosphere is quite charming if you like to spend time outside. We thought we would be swarmed...

Freedomland was supposed to be my last stay in Vietnam. Some time to relax with good food on an quite island (as long as the next ressort doesn't have a karaoke party). It's perfect for that! You're going to have a longer e-mail-conversation before you book - that's nice and helpful because you know what you'll get. Freedomland has nice...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The island is one big construction zone, and Freedomland is a quiet location at the north end in the jungle. The rooms are open and there are insects and other creatures, so don't stay here if you want something more established. You will have a mosquito net to keep out mosquitoes at night. The...

I chose Freedomland Phu Quoc for my vacation in December. I was really rested and did have a great time here with fresh air, charming atmosphere, beautiful bungalows and beautiful private beach . Specially, I slept pretty well without air-conditioner because it’s cold at night this season. The room is clean and neat, staff are nice and friendly, food is...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Freedomland offers an home style hospitality, where you can relax amongst friends you have just met, swapping stories over dinner after a day of adventure exploring the island or a day of total relaxation on the nearby beach. As each day goes by, you will appreciate we are not a hotel. LOCATION: Located 15 minutes walk to Ong Lang beach, nestled in a jungle-like area in the North West of Phu Quoc island. 20Km from the airport (about 45 min. Drive); 10km from the main town (15 min. Drive) BUNGALOWS: We designed our bungalows in harmony with the surrounding environment. They are opened enough to allow air flow, furnished with fans (no A/C), wooden furniture locally made and mosquito nets. There is no tv plasma, no hot water (method Kneipp ;), no hairdryers, no minibar and no air conditioned in our bungalows. FOOD & DRINK: Exclusively for lucky freedomland guests, family and friends every night we cook a communal dinner when everyone has the opportunity to meet, enjoy the food and the ambiance. Peter's cuisine is a skilful blend of vietnamese and European cuisine. All the guests fell in love with the Peter's cooking, and he likes sharing his love for food. ... more   less
