Like many other people, we were in Chama for the train ride. Staying two nights at the Branding Iron Motel, gave us an affordable and convenient place to stay - before and after - the trip. The room was a bit dated, but clean and comfortable. It was quiet, especially after other guests turned off their AC units at night....

We weren't too impressed with the stay. The beds are really small and the shower needed remodeling. The room is okay, but there is no microwave or refrigerator. There is also no breakfast included so I would recommend the Boxcar Cafe which is an amazing place. As for the High Country restaurant my friends loved the burger and I was...

The lady at the front desk was very friendly. I felt she was truly glad to see us when we arrived and still very friendly when we checked out. The rooms were nice although oldish. They were clean, quiet, and VERY large. I have stayed at the Branding Iron Motel in the past and I would consider staying here again.

My family and I had such a great stay. The room was big enough for my small kids to run around in (we were on the bottom floor), it's pet friendly, it's in a great location and the best part is the staff! They're so welcoming and friendly. The downside is our room didn't have a fridge, but I asked...

It is clean and has most of what you want, but nothing to cool your food or drinks. Staff, owners are very nice. The area in early June is really not ready for tourists, but later in the year should be great. BUD CARTER, TEXAS

Cute eatablishment. Very clean room and bathroom. I had a room on the top floor. Decent amenities in terms of toiletries. It's an older place but it was comfy. Flat screen tv with limited channels, no hairdryer, no iron or board, no frig, bed and pillows were okay. Definitely not a pillow top mattress or memory foam pillows. I was...

Friendly staff eager to please. Older motel, but clean. No hair dryer, or iron & board to use, but was easily able to get one from the office. Stayed 2 nights, not much in the way of lodging in Chama. Basically pleased with our choice! BTW, don't ask the gentleman at the front desk if he's English, or he'll charge...

If you want to step back in time to about 1955, you may like this motel. The best thing I can say, I was clean. If you stay here, bring your own shampoo. Parking near your door does happen often. More noise then usual for a motel. This motel will be at or near the bottom of my list for...

We're very sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay with us. With a full or almost full house it can get a bit noisy but we are on-site 24 hours so if there was a particular room giving you a problem we would certainly have gone to speak with them had we known. Yes we are an older motel but...

I would love to give this place a more favorable review, but I have to review things as they were, not the way things should have been. First, the good news in that the owner was very understanding and helpful in moving our reservation a day later due to travel delays. We arrived in Chama late and it was very...

Very friendly staff and owners. Hotel was very clean and quiet. Had a nice grassy area that our dog could roam. Did not have doggie-do bags but trash can was very convenient. At night it was so quiet and the sky was so clear that the stars were highly visible and appeared as if you could reach out and touch...
