Wanted to return to the El Rancho once again for memories sake, but when my husband visited it he fell in love with it, so we now go there once every year. The atmosphere is really out standing. The lobby is beautiful and the gift shop unequaled. The people who work there are very helpful & friendly as so are...

We were on our way to Lubbock for a wedding and decided to break up our trip and stay here. Sharing the history with our youngest was fabulous. The lobby is amazing and we stayed in the Errol Flynn room. The beds were comfortable and the room spacious. Everything was very clean. The onsite restaurant has great service and good...

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at the El Rancho Hotel recently; in fact, that was one of the primary reasons we visited Gallup NM. The Front Desk staff were great - so were the staff in the Gift Shop - very friendly and personable. Our room (Jackie Cooper #117) was clean, sufficiently roomy and the bed was comfy. The hotel is working...

We didn't actually stay at this property. We went in and walked around. It was really old but neat. I could see how it would have been a swanky place back in the day. Movie stars would come and stay here. There are pictures on the walls with a lot of them. It had a wonderful big front desk. There...

Older rooms could stand to be upgraded. Each room is named after an old movie star. Ok beds and linens. No headboards in our room. Small bathroom. There is no coffee maker in the room Breakfast was great! The lobby is beautiful.

We loved the history of this hotel! The lobby is amazing. Yes, the rooms are a bit tired, but it's an old hotel. The old fixtures and finishes are great. We even had our own kitchen and walk out patio area. Far better than staying at a chain. We also enjoyed delicious fajitas in the restaurant for dinner. I recommend...

Stopped her in July 2015 on Route 66 trip. Visited lobby and was impressed. On last minute trip to Arizona, decided to stay here for New Years Eve. When I opened the door to the room, I was surprised to see couch. When entering the room I found a large fireplace, chair and sofa. Turned the corner and there was...

We checked in advance as to whether or not they allowed dogs and were pleased that they did. As it turns out, if you have a pet, you get put in the Annex rather than the hotel proper. The only thing historical about our "pet friendly room" was the smelly carpet and chewed chair and table legs. Very unpleasant evening....

If you are traveling on Route 66, even for a little hint of the way it used to be, book a night at the El Rancho Hotel. This is a step back in time to when real movie stars used to go to Gallup to make cowboy movies in the surrounding area, and hang around the bar and the restaurant...

It is a good looking hotel, both inside and out. They really play up their history with Hollywood and the old west. Keep in mind the rooms were built when rooms were considerably smaller. The front entrance is large comfortable and very period. They offer a bar, souvenir shop and restaurant here as well. The cost is on par with...
