Just back from a two week trip to SA - we did a four day safari experience at Tydon and loved every minute of it - even the rain we experienced did not dampen our enjoyment. All the guides we had were excellent (Lisil, Benji, Stephen and Greg) - very knowledgeable and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely to... More

I booked the whole Tydon Safari Camp for a photo tour to Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Kruger National Park. I chose a small camp so we could have the run of the place with a photo centric atmosphere. All our guides were amazing; Greg, Benji, Liesl, and Steve were impressively knowledgeable. South Africa has a “ranger” licensing system and... More

I had a fantastic time here. The food was awesome. Accommodations spot on. The guides were very knowledgeable. I will definitely want to go back here! If anything, I wished there was more down time in camp itself to rest abit more.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here this July. The staff was amazing and made every effort to make sure that we saw as many animals as possible. The food was great as well. We saw a black rhino with her baby, a female leopard and even a rare pangolin. We would strongly recommend this company.

I had high expectations when I visited this camp recently with a dozen photographer friends - and this group of owners and staff exceeded those high expectations by a wide margin. The owners (Gavin and Vangie) were on site on a regular basis and repeatedly checked to be sure everything was going smoothly for our group. That's always a good... More

The accommodation was clean, big and comfortable - better, the Tydon people are kind and well educated. You feel safe and welcomed - their small camps make the experience unique and so friendly. Living an adventure in the South African bush is just the best thing that happened to me/us in my/our lives so far. We have seen the big... More

Wow wow wow, I don't think we could have enjoyed our safari anymore more than we did at Tydon. We stayed at both their safari camp and bush camp (bush camp review is separate, we loved it just as much) and would recommend a stay at both. First off the tent accommodations were superb. I wish I could take those... More

Tydon provides excellent value for experiencing safari in both Sabi Sands and Kruger. The tents are comfortable and well equipped, the food was generous and tasty and we were very well looked after. The highlight of course is the safari - and while the guides are of varying quality, the best are truly outstanding.

I am surprised by some of the negative reviews of Tydon. I will preface my rave review by saying that if you are looking for 5 star luxury in the Bush with Wifi and hot lavender-scented hand towels, stay somewhere else (and pay MUCH more). If you are looking for fantastic game viewing with people who are truly passionate about... More

The Kruger safari tours were outstanding. Our guides Leisle and Bengie knew where to find the big cats, leopard and lions. Their knowledge of animal Le and flora made each excursion special. Our trip in their new safari vehicle was first class. Meals at the camp were made more enjoyable with sto told by the owner, Gavin, each evening. The... More
