This resort has large individual lodges as rooms, which were beautifully decorated and immaculately cleaned every day, with an additional turn down service nightly. Included are the snacks and room refrigerator stocked with water, soft drinks, beers and wine. The bathrooms are huge and have a large soaking tub and glass shower both in the bath and outside on the private patio. It’s a bit strange with no shades or window coverings in the bath, but the area is quite private. The meals are terrific, with many, many varieties to choose from at each meal. There are a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables at every meal. Dinner always includes choices of game meats, chicken, beef or lamb, and vegetarian options. You have 1 waiter assigned to you for your entire stay, and that person (thanks Moses) is great at remembering your preferences and helping out in any way.
There are 2 , 3 hour game drives daily, early morning and late afternoon/early evening. Try to go on every drive, as they are amazing. We were assigned one driver/guide and a tracker for the entire stay (shout out to Queen & Albert). They are fun and are super knowledgeable about all the animals, large and small. Morning drives include a short coffee/tea stop and afternoon drives include “sundowner” drinks and snacks out in the bush.
We had a great stay, highly recommend.

We stayed at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge in November and were completely impressed by the quality of the lodge itself, the exemplary accommodation and attention to detail. Our suite was beautifully appointed and sumptuous making us immediately feel were were in a luxurious place. The welcome from the staff was very warm and friendly with nothing seemingly too much trouble. The Safari experience was outstanding with all of the big five seen twice over four days and lots of additional game in between. Our ranger and guide were extremely knowledgeable and were keen to answer all of our questions and also bring interesting plants and animals and nature facts to our attention, adding to our experience. The food was excellent and with so much choice on offer you could never go hungry! We did use the Spa which provided a limited but high quality range of treatments. The only cautionary note we would raise is that the lodge is family friendly and therefore very young children with parents can be there when you visit which, if you are a couple seeking some peace and quiet may not be most welcome. Other lodges in the group do not allow children and therefore may be a better choice if seclusion is what you seek. Other than this, Bush Lodge is simply outstanding and provided us with the best Safari experience we have had.

After our previous Lodge, we thought it could be challenging. But Sabi Sabi was just excellent.
The room was more modern (again with 2 AC/Heaters) and an outside shower ( should you decide to do that).
The views from their dedicated watering hole viewing platform are amazing. You can see Elephants, Lions, Plains Buffalo, and monkeys without even leaving the lodge.
The dining experience at Sabi Sabi was a delight, with a buffet style offering for Breakfast and Dinners that catered to every palate. The selection was diverse and of high quality, leaving us satisfied and not needing to indulge in lunch.
The game drives were BEYOND Expectations. Our guide was Anantha, and she was terrific. Her knowledge of the bush and the animals enhanced our game drives. She made sure all questions were answered and that we all had great viewing angles for the animals.
Of course, we had breakfast, coffee, and wine stops in the bush—it was just amazing to do this with the animals around you and the sunsets.
This lodge is just wonderful, as are all the staff.

I just returned from my 5 days, 4 nights stay at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. Everything was top notch from welcome to departure. My accommodation was spacious, immaculate, tastefully decorated, and comfortable. The air conditioning prevailed even when the outside temperatures were 40+. Meals were tastefully prepared, especially so at dinner. I appreciated the presentations of dinner menus by the chefs. My interest in Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge focused on animal viewing and photography. I had wonderful experiences on each drive (mornings and afternoons). Good game drives are truly unpredictable, one really doesn't/shouldn't know what to expect. My highlights (sorry, no promises for future drives) included a pride of lions confronting a pair of rhinos and a cheetah protecting her 3 cubs from a menacing hyena. Also memorable were observing a pack of wild dogs, very close observation of a rhino with her calf at sunset, and leopards at sundown at a watering hole. These sightings were facilitated by guide Warren, a highly competent, knowledgeable, and experienced guide who did his best to provide opportunities for closeup viewings (safari vehicles are not restricted to tar roads at Sabi Sabi, so we frequently followed animals into the bush). Warren also shared a few of his photo strategies which proved quite helpful. I was thoroughly pleased with my stay at Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge. I felt I received quality service, excellent accommodations, and memorable experiences.

Thank you Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge for the most amazing 5 Star Safari experience celebrating our joint Ruby Wedding anniversaries with our friends.. Having never been on a Safari before we had an idea of what to expect but nothing could have prepared us for the adventure we had just experienced.

Firstly the Lodge is 5 star outstanding. True African styling with Luxury Suites to match, with every amenity and beautifully furnished. The beds were huge and sumptuous, the bathroom massive with an indoor and outdoor shower and bath tub and an amazing lounge area with outdoor patio overlooking the waterhole.

With 2 game drives every day we were fortunate enough to have our amazing ranger Queen and tracker Anton who were both so knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions of which we had many. We asked them both to join us for dinner each night and we’re so glad we did as it gave us an opportunity to find out a little about their lives and culture. We all got on so well and feel, that we really made two new good friends.

Huge thanks to Sindy who looked after our rooms perfectly and to Lilly who was always waiting for us at meal times and was so attentive,

The dining in the evening under the stars with the chef introducing the various offerings from the food stations was something we have never experienced. The food was of exceptional quality as was the variety and the whole experience was very special.

We cannot fault this Lodge in any aspect and we now have truly wonderful memories that will live with us forever.

Thank you once again to each and everyone of the staff. You are all a credit to Bush Lodge and thank you Conrad in the way you manage and set the standards and ethos your lodge promotes. Great teams come from excellent leadership and you do just that.

We will certainly be recommending Bush Lodge to all are family and friends and hope to return again some day.

Tim and Ali x

Such a magic experience: hearing about a safari is one thing, but experiencing it is totally amazing. The Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge managed to combine perfect organization of the safaris, safety, secutiry, quality time with the field guide, trackers and staff ,making us feel immersed in a caring atmosphere. Delicious meals and many moments for snacks or a special dinner under the stars. Still under the effect of Nature's beauty backed up with the presence of such involved staff. We feel belonging to a beautiful group. Will be back as soon as it is possible

We are South Africans living abroad and have experienced many safari holidays over the years. This stay was second to none- the staff could not be more helpful and friendly and the accommodation is impressive in all respects along with food of the highest quality (you will never go hungry). The main attraction is of course the wildlife and this does not disappoint. Our ranger Richard and his colleague Trevor who was our tracker were professional and exceptionally knowledgable and also highly conscious of the welfare of the animals with respect to ensuring that we did not disturb them to any great degree which we think is very important. Magical experience overall and would highly recommend.

Flawless. Everything about Sabi Sabi is top-notch...food, staff responsiveness, decor. We had excellent guides/trackers (we were with Devon and Candy, who were fantastic). Sabi Sabi seems to have a "policy" to keep the same guide/tracker vehicle throughout your stay so that your game viewing preferences are met (rather than being with a different guide every time)...personally, we preferred the consistency, since Devon and Candy were able to do their best to have us see what we really wanted. The lodgings are unbelievably tasteful and gorgeous (note that some lodge rooms have been updated, so photos may not be accurate; they were still working on interiors in some of the rooms when we were there at the end of July 2023). Do take a community tour if you have the time. It is very poor, but important to see where many of Sabi Sabi's staff lives. The village is trying hard to meet the needs of the residents through digital learning program and orphanage.

We visited as a group of 8 colleagues and although we could only stay for 2 nights, it was a magical fun stay! The team at the lodge were all very welcoming and warm; the food was plentiful and delicious; and the main deck offered a fantastic spot to enjoy game viewing from an armchair.

Bush Lodge has 25 suites which makes it one of the 'larger' lodge options but it still felt very intimate and the staff were fantastic at reading the guests. We saw a great mix of family groups and couples and they all seemed very well catered for.

The lodge was undergoing a refurb and most of the suites had already been converted to a new layout & décor. Although we stayed in one of the original suites that had not yet been converted, we popped into one of the new suites to take a look and I loved it! The beds now face out towards the bush and the new design is gorgeous. That being said, I was still very happy with what we had; the suites are extremely spacious, with a bathroom is bigger than my bedroom back home. There were lovely thoughtful touches throughout.

Game viewing was also fantastic and we all commented how interesting the areas of the concession were, very different landscape from one side to the other. Our ranger Jason was also the perfect fit for our group, knowledgeable and great fun. Also well done Jason for joining us on the trail run in Huntingdon Village the first morning with no training or warning... and beating us all :)

I would happily recommend SS Bush Lodge and I hope to return again myself.

My family and I were warmly welcomed by staff from the moment we arrived. Our rooms were extremely comfortable, catering to our every need and we especially enjoyed the airconditioner due to the extraordinary high temperatures.
Our game drives were superb! We had outstanding sightings and our guide Warren and our tracker Nhlanhla, worked hard to show us the very best. A standout was a spending time with a Mum and Baby Rhino in extremely close proximity. What a privilege. Warren's knowledge is outstanding and Nhlanhla's tracking skills legendary.

Hi Mia June is the middle of winter so mornings and evenings can be very cold, especially when moving on the open safari vehicle so we do recommend packing thick jackets/scarves/beanies. We do provide blankets on the safari vehicles which do help. Day time temperatures are usually very mild and after safari time in the morning, layers of clothing are no longer required. Temperatures range between 12-25C (53-77F). No, the swimming pool is not heated at Bush Lodge. We look forward to welcoming you to Bush Lodge in June!!

Hi Thank you for your message. We would recommend thin long pants for safari times as it does still get chilly on the early morning safaris and once the sun has set. Day time temperatures are wonderful and you will not need to wear long pants during the day time. Yes, our pools are chlorinated. It is not often we have animals around the pools, and if so, they generally have a drink and walk off so we do not believe there is any reason for you to not swim in the pools, but the decision is yours. We look forward to welcoming you!
