I must admit that the whole place was clean and pretty - the camp "host" Mike was AMAZING! He helped us get set up and was quite helpful throughout the whole weekend. Now to the bad part - the swimming pool is the size of a horse trough and you have to pay for the sauna. The main reason we...

My husband and I went a week prior to camping in the site because we were going to take 3 couples and their kids with us and wanted to check it out. The man was friendly and gave us information we taught it was good enough to try. To make a long story short we regret staying there the same...

We booked a cabin for a fairly last minute trip. The day before we were set to leave I ran across all these awful reviews. I was panicked! I knew if we cancelled we would lose around 200 dollars. I decided just to call and tell them and see what they had to say about the reviews. The man I...

First off, the moment we walked into the front office, we were greeted by yelling owners that could not be understood. We got to the "cabins" and found that no doors closed and the room smelled of solid propane. We turned on the fire, but we did not know there was a $15 charge a day for using it. We...

we reserved our cabin a week in advance with a credit card intending to pay with a check, therefore saving the 4% as mentioned on the website, and gave them written intent of such in our reservation notes. once there we discovered they had run the charge. oh well... not worth the aggravation we began to face when we asked...

Just got back from a trip to Alto Hombre Gordito Hideout. Don't go here! For the cost, the accomodations were sparce and included a $15 charge to use the fireplace!! Didn't know about this until after we tried to start a fire with the wet/fresh wood that we hauled ourselves from the office. After complaining about the extra cost for...

Very disappointed - and offended. Don't waste your money! My family and I stayed for 5 nights at the "resort" the week before Christmas, 2010. The trouble started when we checked in and the couple running the place was rude to us before we ever had the keys in our hands. The first night, the heat in our cabin would...

We spent the last few years and this Christmas at this place. Although we've had problems in the past, this time was absolutely the last time. We were treated poorly, belittled and insulted when we called the office to report a lack of hot water. On one occasion, although they advertise WiFi, we were unable to connect to the internet....

After being a bit bemused by all the negative ratings from posters, I realized that all those negative comments are coming from the very same people you go on vacation to get away from. If you're anal retentive and worry about finding a hair on the floor, or if you think trees and bushes are dirty and need to be...

The website claims there is a playground for children, however it is a bunch of play equipment thrown together in a dirty area of the campground. It is covered in weeds!! You have to drive about thirty minutes out of Ruidoso to get to it then drive through a dirt road where many other trailers and houses are situated. You...
