Wonderful place to stay with family. Large family room with fire place. Very quiet and cozy. Close to the shops and river. Had a group of 9 and we all fit just fine. Staff was very helpful. Cabins were clean and warm.

If you're looking for super-fancy, keep looking. If you're satisfied with clean, comfy, competitive prices and a quiet place in the midst of busy Ruidoso, look no further. My husband and I stayed in one of the smaller cabins and found it perfectly adequate for the two of us. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen stocked. The owner is personable.... More

We first came to the Ponderosa cabins in the early 1970s....and we keep coming back. While these rustic cabins are located in town, you would never know it because they are in a wooded area near the river and are so quiet. The cabins have fire places and small kitchens and are stocked with everything you need from towels to... More

It is amazingly beautiful and quiet! Took my breath away and the cabins are very homey, I could definitely live in one. The owner is very pleasant and attentive. The Ponderosa Cabins is one of the best places I have ever stayed at!!! I definitely recommend the Ponderosa Cabins for anyone who wants a nice, beautiful, and quiet stay. Just... More

Had such a great stay. Jules was friendly and wanted to make sure that everything was fine. Cabin was clean and comfortable. I would not stay anywhere else in rudioso. Planning a return trip soon but for a much longer time. Quiet and rustic environment.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay in Cabin 14! It was the perfect size for us and our German Shepherd. The cabin was very clean and the shower had great pressure and water temperature. I also loved having a full kitchen. The owner was kind enough to lend me a casserole pan when I couldn't find one in... More

It is a great place to stay. It is close to the middle of town but you feel like you are in the woods. It is quiet and peaceful. There wasn't very many cabins occupied and the owner was on vacation. So there were a few days we couldn't get clean towels because housekeeping wasn't around. We stayed in the... More

An off the road, hidden in the trees, paradise of about 10 cabins of varying sizes and costs, but all have kitchens. Actually this is about the 18th time we have stayed here and decided I should write a report on it. We have a three day family reunion there each year since 1998. We take all the cabins and... More

If you are looking for a budget friendly cabin away from traffic and crowds, this is it. Nice fresh towels and linens. Nothing fancy but that's not what I'm looking for when I rent a "rustic" cabin. Great friendly management that is very accommodating. Met my needs, clean, quite, and basic kitchen supplies.
