We only stayed here one night on our way to another lodge. We stayed in the Matume room which i would highly recommend - very nice room. The whole lodge was very comfortable with a nice, friendly staff. What keeps them from being five stars is not owning their own game drive vehicles and contracting out game drives.

We were welcomed and catered for the whole weekend. All our whims and wishes were taken care of before we could even request anything. Service was excellent and friendly and i would definitely recommend this lodge. The food was to die for. Really well thought out menu.

This is a very nice, slightly rustic, and very friendly place. The game drives with Bert and LeeAnn were incredible. Bert's not a talker but he knows where to find things and he and the other guides are in communication with each other to increase chances of seeing things. If you want to hear a lion breathe or chew, or...

We stayed for two nights at Masodini in July 2016. What a wonderful gem in Balule Nature Reserve. The service, food and accommodation was of a high standard. We had a wonderful morning game drive with Bert, the highlight being the pride of lion we followed after they had finished a kill. Our room was comfortable and the staff were...

This great lodge it situated in the middle of a private game reserve with lots of animals. Usually elephants, giraffes or warthogs pass by while you enjoy a rich and tasty breakfast or relax in the comfortable deck chairs. The spacious bungalows are very well-equipped and cosy. We very much enjoyed the African safari feeling that we had when the...

Look no further if you are planning a trip to the Kruger area for a safari. Balule Game Reserve is the most amazing place to get an intimate close-up with the animals as even Kruger cannot provide. Beyond that, Masodini itself is a wonderful place to stay, with excellent food and even more excellent hosts. I cannot wait to return.

My husband and I fell in love in South Africa where I had lived for 4 years but we had never got to the Kruger. After getting married in Mexico we had to travel to each other nations (Canada and UK) for wedding receptions and so we had a 'moving honeymoon'. We came back to SA to visit friends etc....

Excellent stay, Sabine, the manager was extremely nice and welcoming. Diners were delicious, served outside with the other guests. Safaris were the best ones we had, getting very close to the animals, feeling alone in the bush.
