This could very well be my favorite place on Earth! It's been 6 months since my visit and I still can't think of a single complaint about this place. In fact, I've already booked my reservation for my next stay! From the staff to the accommodations this place is gold! It's small and intimate giving you very personal and attentive... More

There are several Kapama camps in the same private park abutting Kruger. Kapama Buffalo Camp is the smallest and most intimate of the camps, which we loved. Our safari tent was more like a deluxe hotel room on stilts – extra fun when the wind kicked up and the tent creaked. We were in the Elephant tent, which was at... More

We booked a 4 day safari and stayed in Buffalo Camp which was supposed to be tents, but they are really rooms on stilts which move in the wind. They are definitely lovely rooms though. The food was always very good and different each day, apart from the breakfast which was always the same. The service was always very good.... More

Ok - first things first Kapama Buffalo Camp's tents are not your average tent. They put many a five star hotel to shame. So the tents gets thumbs up. The staff - superb. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Food varied a little from good to very good. Always a good variety to choose from. The game drives - a little luck... More

Kapama Buffalo Camp is a magical place. My husband and I spent 3 nights there last week for our honeymoon and haven't stopped talking about how amazing our experience was. From the moment the staff meets you at the airport to the greeting at the entrance with hot hotels and welcome cocktails, the entire experience will leave you wishing you... More

My wife and I were there for a few days in September, and if your looking to see the big 5 then this is the place to go. We managed to see them including the leopard, outstanding. The staff at the camp couldn't do enough for us and as a wedding anniversary idea it was well worth it.

What a great place to relax whilst enjoying a safari. The staff are excellent, the food was outstanding and you will never be hungry. The rooms are beautiful and the atmosphere of the place is relaxed yet exclusive. The only thing to pay for on our trip was the wine which was quite reasonably priced (considering your in the middle... More

The whole Kapama Buffalo Camp experience was mind blowing. I will say it is expensive, but I would do it all over again. The luxurious tent on stilts was beautiful, and as it was my birthday I received a bottle of wine upon arriving. The food, so much of it, and absolutely fantastic. The attention to detail, in accommodation, facilities... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.Ten luxury build canvas tents, each sleeping two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden walkways interconnect the rooms, which are all in the upper reaches of tall riverine trees. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are seen daily walking along the sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, low impact climate control, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. The communal areas of Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambience particular to Buffalo Camp. With a maximum of 20 guests at Buffalo Camp, special attention is paid to personal service and the staff become like friends. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush. ... more   less
