We absolutely cannot fault this hotel, we simply loved it. The staff were incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help you; the food absolutely delicious and SO generous! The game drives speak for themselves - out of this world, wow. Our guide Chad and tracker Bryan were brilliant and so well informed and friendly. We were lucky...

I cannot say enough great things about this place. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to do a safari! We had Henrico and Stanley as our ranger and tracker and both were fantastic. Rico's knowledge of the animals, behaviour, plants, stars (everything!) was phenomenal and his enthusiasm was incredibly infectious. He really made this trip something very special and we...

Enjoyed game drives over 3 days with family. Knowledgeable ranger. Saw the Big 5. Seeing the leopard up close was an incredible sight. The lion clubs playing with each other was a great too. Rhinos and elephants at close range was truly amazing. Saw the Buffalos as well to round out the big 5. Saw plenty of giraffes.....no problem. Saw...

From the staff, to the rooms, to the food and the organization this is fantastic. Both Chad and Henrico were great Rangers, we saw everything from baby elephants to leopards and everything in between. Make sure you fly into the closest airport only 1/2 hr away otherwise it's a 21/2 hour drive. Highly recommend this lodge. We had a 15yr...

My mom and I visit waterside a few weeks ago. What an amazing experience, we loved every second and felt sad when we left. We had Henrico and Stanley (I think that was the trackers name) and they were the best, we could not have been happier with them. We saw so many animals (leopards a few times, baby lions,...

Stayed at this wonderful lodge for three nights. From the moment we arrived the staff were so welcoming and showed us around. Our luggage was delivered to our bungalow which was gorgeous. A huge bed, beautifully dressed and with a mosquito net surrounding it. Bathroom with bath and separate shower. A tea/coffee making area, a safe and a hairdryer. The...

Wonderful game reserve. Stayed in the Waterside Lodge which houses 20 luxurious lodges. We enjoyed staying there very much as it is was more intimate, although less grand, than the main lodge. The bed was wonderful with an electric blanket on top of the mattress which made it cosy and inviting on a cold winter evening. It was our first...

Our first time at Thornybush Waterside Lodge and in Kruger and we will be returning. It was our 30th Wedding Anniversary celebration so decided to push the boat out and go to South Africa and the Maldives. Thornybush made us feel very welcome and couldn't have been friendlier. Food and accommodation were fantastic (many thanks Garth for looking after us...

Just returned from 4 night 3 day trip. In a word. Amazing. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. The staff all introduced themselves. They already knew who we were and were familiar with the special request we had made in advance. The bungalows are very nicely furnished. Huge bed which includes a heating blanket, which is...

Had a great time. Enjoyed the early morning and afternoon game drives. Saw the big five over a 3 day stay. Getting up close (5 ft)to a leopard in the wild and watching lion cubs playing with each other was truly amazing. The rhinos were incredible as well. Not to speak of the African elephants and the African Buffaloes -...
