What an amazing 5 star experience! From arrival to departure 4 days later, no detail was left untouched. Every game drive was informative from the birds, to the trees and their uses in Africa to the most magnificent Big 5! We saw all the big five including a rare siting of a leaopard eating an impala in a tree, from...

Umlani was everything we could have wished for! So understated, yet top quality. We felt like it was our own home for a while...how I wish it was! The staff and management made us feel so welcome and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Our ranger, Adam, was exceptionally knowledgable and patient with us, yet it's the atmosphere around...

Never having been on a safari before, we were not quite sure what to expect as we arrived at Umlani. With my wife and two boys (11,9), I can only say the whole experience was beyond our expectations. From the welcomes we received when we got off our shuttle to the friendliness of all the staff and the accommodations throughout...

We enjoy going on safari, and have stayed at several different camps over the years. We were very impressed with the camp and the service at Umlani. It is a bush camp, so a bit more rustic than other camps, but certainly a far cry from camping. The main difference is that there is no electricity (a centralized charging station...

Ever since I was a child, growing up in Switzerland watching African documentaries I wanted to experience the African bush. We decided on Umlani for our honeymoon and we are so very glad that we did. From the start the staff were lovely and warm and very accommodating. Our bungalow was incredible, with an amazing outdoor shower. The camp has...

Umlani is a pleasure and the staff are great. Sinhle and Maurice were great in the bush, Joanna, Rouxle and Greg made us feel very welcome and Goodness was a wizard in the kitchen. Would we go back? Most certainly!

As one guest so eloquently put it, "It's everything you need and nothing you don't". The staff was fantastic, the food outstanding, and what can I say about Herbert and Ephraim that has not been said? I learned more about the animals and their language than I had ever hoped for. A total respect for the wildlife is what makes...

Imagine the sun setting over a dark pool filled with hippos and crocodiles. A lone water buffalo rests on the bank, lazily swishing flies. Suddenly a mama rhino appears, and skipping beside her is her baby. Then, as you sip your Amarula, your guides, Ephraim and Herbert, point to a hyena skulking along in the shadows across the pool. You...

This resort is entirely "off the grid," with only solar and generator electricity, outdoor (private) showers and toilets. Lighting is by candles and oil lams, entertainment is "bush TV," which is a bonfire around which the guests and staff tell stories at night. If you enjoy camping (sleeping rough), as my family does, you will enjoy the luxury of Umlani....
