It is value for money that pushes this lodge from being a very very good four star to a five star (The only 5 star I have ever given). We had a great time here. For a fully inclusive lodge this is a budget option (as far as any lodge can be called budget) and excellent value for money. The...

We stayed three days at Umlani and to take it in a nutshell: it was an once in a lifetime experience. Our first safari, we went out on the game drives, the rangers (a big thank's to Shedreck and Cabinet) always went the extra mile to even get closer to the animals. Albeit the non-electricity living (which is a highlight...

My family and I recently holidayed in the South African lowveld and spent three weeks in the Kruger National Park driving and catering for ourselves. We decided to have a couple of nights at a private lodge in the Timbavati before returning to Johannesburg and flying to London. We wanted somewhere small, rustic, tranquil and environmentally sensitive so decided on...

This is a really 'back to nature' camp which is 'off grid' and all the more charming for that. Having no electricity is actually a plus - oil lamps and candles brings back the idea of a lost time. The camp is well equipped - the huts have flushing toilets and showers, beds with mosquito nets etc. There is wifi...

An amazing stay at Umlani. A rustic get-a-way, in a real Bush camp. Our Ranger Shadreck and Tracker Cabinet did such a great job and found some great animals for us. We went on a Bush walk and had time in the tree house. It was a life changing experience. We can't wait to go back!!!!

Everyone here was very friendly and accommodating at all times. Food was varied and plentiful. The room was spotless. Game drives were twice daily. The morning drives were more quiet, but the evening drives were filled with animals including the Big 5, leopards, a baby hyena and even a pangolin. Guide and tracker (Shedrock and Cabinet) were pleasant and informative....
