This Lodge, it's staff, and Rangers represent the best in walking or driving safaris in a comfortable and secure surrounding. The food is substantially above what you's expect for the relatively remote location and the impromptu entertainment seems heartfelt - a young boy present during...More

We were in the same situation and decided to stay at Matla. Best decision ever. Staff is fabulous, rooms are so much better than at Tau and you still have a small water hole in front of the main building to watch animals. The staff is from Tau so very experienced and wonderful. The game drivers are awesome. I am trying to find a way to go back.

Good day, at the moment it is not that cold yet, so a jacket will be enough it is only in May - July that you would need warmer clothes. We also provide blankets on the landrovers should you still need some extra warmth. Both routes can be taken, personally I prefer the N4 to Rustenburg more, but it also depends which side on Johannesburg you would be traveling from. We wish you an amazing stay!
