Fabulous introduction to the African bush, with our excellent guide Kgomotso, and the very hard-working camp staff. Incredible variety of animals during our 3-day stay, and we were able to see some less-visited areas of the reserve. We are used to camping out, so the cabins seemed relatively luxurious, and the non-smelly pit toilet and v effective bucket shower were...

Dear Ninko 999 Thanks so much for your review - and for mentioning not only Kgomotso but all the camp staff :) Not only the Mosetlha staff, but all the people working in the Reserve are from the five local villages surrounding Madikwe. The reserve employs 1500 people full time and more with contract work (from fixing roads, to doing...

Mosetlha is a bush camp, which gives a clue to the kind of place it is. It is not a luxury lodge, and has no swimming pool, no butlers waiting on you and no bottle of champagne on the bedside table. If those are your priorities, rather than experiencing the sights and sounds of the African bush, go elsewhere. The...

Dear Roger W Thanks so much for this review. Thanks also for especially mentioning how the drives are conducted - Madikwe game viewing really is something special due to the relationships amongst the guides (from all the lodges) and their radio and game drive etiquette. We look forward to your next stay with us (perhaps this time with grandchildren??). Best...

I've just spent 2 weeks at Mosetlha and loved every moment of it. I was made to feel special and important and cared for. The game drives were brilliant and Jonny, our guide, a genius at spotting all we wanted to see. From the fun of the showers to the beautiful lamplight at night I couldn't fault a thing. The...

Loved the whole experience from the eco - natured vibe of this place to the owner, Chris and his manager, Greg, who greeted you after EVERY game drive - which were spectacular- to the amazing food and staff who were friendly and made you feel at home. Visiting family in South Africa they arranged a trip to Mosetlha as a treat - and what a treat it was! Accommodation is simple but comfortable and the whole bush camping experience well explained and a whole lot of fun. The staff went out of their way to make us welcome and it felt more like being a guest in...

Dear Wirraburra Thank you for this review. I am so glad you felt so at home with us. And that you like the home style food - we pretty much have four menus, all of which are prepared on the open fire, so you would eventually see a repeat :) Yes, the magical Madikwe wildlife is definitely the main reason...

Dear Brittbai Thanks so much for this great review! You've covered pretty much everything and I love that you highlighted the ability for guests to digitally detox (without being completely stranded and without their emails :) ). So delighted that you have a budding wildlife photographer. Hope to see you again soon - maybe later this year? Thanks and best...

I would reiterate all the wonderful things other reviewers say, and as several give details of the camp and how it runs, I will not repeat their descriptions. The camp is fantastic, the staff is wonderful, guides are very knowledgeable, the food is great, and the whole overall experience was fabulous. We had only a short time in South Africa...

My teenage daughter, my sister and I spent one night here in August. Oh, how I wish we could've spent more time! Our stay was simply amazing. We had two huts that shared a wall a short walk from the impeccably clean composing loo and donkey-boiler showers (which, because we spent one night, did not use). After a short drive...

Mosethla is an eco lodge. That means no electricity or piped water. Instead the camp is lit by over a hundred paraffin lamps. Solar lamps are used to light your lodge room and a donkey boiler for hot water that you carry and pour into an overhead shower tank. The camp has two solar powered electric wires to prevent elephant...

This year was different to last, as this was a winter trip compared to summer last time. It's not better or worse because of the time of year, just different.
