If you have any qualms about choosing to stay at the Madikwe Safari Lodge the whole experience is out of this world and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We flew into Madikwe on a light plane from Johannesburg and were met by our Ranger Michael Wesraadt who picked us up in a land cruiser and took us the 10...

We spent 4 nights at this incredible private lodge and I cannot recommend it highly enough! It is expensive, and we had to save up for this holiday of a lifetime, but comparable to the rates of other lodges it seems, and you certainly seem to get what you pay for. You are greeted on arrival by the management and...

5 stars is not enough. This place is outstanding on all levels but it is the level of service and the people that work here that really set it apart. After our wedding, we were after a place to relax with family and show off the beautiful African bush to our overseas guests. It also needed to be child-friendly, big...

A most amazing experience. From the moment we arrived at Lapala lodge, nothing was too much trouble. No matter where the 29 of us sat for breakfast, the staff remembered our preferences and served us accordingly. I have never stayed at a resort that is more child friendly. Our Field Guide, Gerhardt, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable as well as...

This Luxurious Lodge on the foothills of Madikwe Game Reserve embodies the Opulence of Africa, from cladded papa to beautiful private chalets that truly whisper comfort and make one feel that they are one with nature! I will never forget the the view of the semi-bushvelt from our chalets patio with a private slash pool and the outside shower was...

I was a bit disappointed with Madikwe Safari Lodge (Lelapa). The rooms were OK but I had expected more, especially for the price we had paid. The food was lovely and our ranger Yolanda was fabulous. The pick up from Johannesburg to Madikwe Lodge was a complete disaster. The driver was 2 hours late (he apparently broke down, and didn't...

This is the third time we have been back and it just keeps getting better. The staff are extremely attentive and are amazing with children. We loved the new family rooms and the educational children's activities, and bumble game drive. The Lodge is beautifully maintained and the service is excellent.

We visited as part of a self planned tour of South Africa. We were wowed by the whole experience. As we drove in we saw elephants and giraffes with their babies coming down to a watering hole to drink. Brad our guide was excellent. The food was really first class with dishes of game we had never eaten. The game...

Just visited Madikwe's Kopani Lodge in Madikwe Game Reserve in SA. The park is beautifull and seems well managed. Saw lots of game: Elephants, Buffalo, Lions, Rhino, Giraf, etc. The lodge is built against rocks, overlooking the plains. Well designed, but most and foremost: great staff. Clive (manager), Rebecca (Front Office) and Luke (Ranger) all exceeded my expectations. Very professional,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The rich red timbres of the African earth are reflected in the warm tones of Madikwe Safari Lodge. Cradled between rolling hills, overlooking game-filled plains intersected by the Marico River and framed by the Dwarsberg Hills, just 20 suites are clustered in three intimate camps. With circular fireplaces at the heart of every suite, and big glass doors to blur the boundary between inside and out, Madikwe embodies the warm, bold heart of this spectacularly rugged corner of Africa. Spacious wooden decks embrace inviting plunge pools, and book-filled shelves in quiet corners entice and captivate, while large pizza ovens add a fun twist to meal times. ... more   less
