It is no doubt repetitive to join in the many who praise this B&B. But, as its frequently returning customers know, it is a true gem. The rooms are cozily appointed and many, like El Pueblo where we stayed, have world-class mountain views. Erica and Mark are perfect hosts; the latter an accomplished breakfast chef. They also know all the... More

I live in Chicago and I needed a short gate-away from the city before the winter hits. I've had the Taos Pueblo on my bucket list for years and thought this would be the perfect time of year to go for a visit. I stumbled across this bnb while researching the Pueblo and it was the best stay I've been... More

Dear maddogmarco, I'm glad you were able to check the Taos Pueblo off the bucket list and I couldn't agree more, the Autumn is one of the loveliest times of the year to be here in Taos. Lovely colors on the Apens and clear crisp skies! I'm glad Erika's hiking suggestions worked out, the Williams Lake hike is wonderful! Hopefully... More

This was our first stay at Hacienda del Sol and owners Mark and Erica (and their adorable son, Brogan) made us feel very welcome and at home. Upon arrival, Mark showed us around the property, which is absolutely beautiful, and to the Taos Suite, where we stayed for 2 nights. There were 2 bedrooms, a sitting area, and a large... More

Dear Judyhobbes, Thank you for your kind words and its great to hear that you enjoyed the room, the breakfasts and the setting. We live in Santa Fe and have taken a number of weekends in Taos. We've stayed at bed and breakfasts as well as hotels. This place puts them all to shame. The rooms are fantastic ... truly fantastic. The location is better than anything we've seen ... and the perfect balance of attention and privacy completes the package. There is... More

TravelingStevie, Thank you for such a glowing review! I'm exactly like you when it comes to painting, I can see why some many artists set up shop here in Northern New Mexico but I'm just going to have to watch them, as I can't paint either! Hopefully we'll be your home away from home on your next visit to Taos!... More

We got married at the Hacienda del Sol on 10/1/16. This B&B, the owners (Gerd & Luellen Hertel) and the managers (Erika Hertel and Mark Carroll) are warm, accommodating and wonderful. The property is gorgeous. The rooms are charming, clean and full of character. The breakfasts are outstanding. They made every arrangement for our wedding, including the minister, the cake,... More

This is a very nice bed and breakfast just on the outskirts of Taos. Each room is uniquely named, such as my room, Escondidas. The room is spacious, with radiant, in floor heating and a gas fireplace. My only complaints with the room was the deadbolt did not work and the pressure in the shower varied with how many people... My wife and I travel often, we frequently stay at B&B and Boutique Hotels. Hacienda del Sol was outstanding. From the early check-in (We showed up at 2:30) to the late check-out (We left by 11:00) we were treated super nicely. The room was nicely done, with lots of personal touch. Great bed and sheets.
