We stayed here two nights during a three day ski trip at Taos and found that it was a great budget option for travelers. Yes, the bathroom needs updating but it, like the rest of the room was very clean. The carpets and bedding looked rather new and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was one of the best...

We spent three nights here and enjoyed the ambiance of this hotel. The grounds were lovely; the architecture and furnishings reflected the southwest mode. The lodge was a healthy walk away from the square, which gave you access to restaurants and shopping without having to worry about limited, expensive parking. The room was small but light, airy and tidy. The...

We paid about $140/night after the inclusion of the $20 pet fee. In other words, pets are welcome, but not THAT welcome. There was a throbbing electrical hum that went on all night and kept us awake. When we complained, the response was, "Oh that....yeah....that happens sometimes. It's the electrical box." The room was dumpy and the mattress was saggy....

They are lucky you do not see the room first. The lobby is well maintained and updated. The rooms are very outdated and not well kept. What a shock to walk in to the room and not see a fridge, microwave or coffee maker. The carpet needs to be replaced, walls painted or better yet just gut the room and...

The Kachina Lodge is an older motel, approaching run down. The room was clean but very dated, even the bedding was dated. We loved that there was real live antibacterial liquid soap for the sink and a dispenser for shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the shower. However, the shower gel was empty, the toilet paper was nearly gone, with...

I was highly excited to stay here as I have always wanted to. Sadly, I was disappointed :( The guy at the front desk checked me in while he was on the phone, said he'd show me where things were and never did. Had to ask where breakfast was served. The room itself was not very clean, there was nearly...

I stayed at this lodge the last week in October, 2013.The lobby looks nice, but is nothing like the rooms. The place is an old lodge and has not been kept up. There were no lights outside the rooms, it smelled of smoke, bed was very soft and uncomfortable, barely any light inside, old TV, hard to reach plugs, old...

This response is a surprise and we don't understand. Here is why. We have a Hotel Procedure for the front desk staff to call all our guests within 15 minutes after check-in to find if their room appears to be satisfactory. When this call receives any issue of dissatisfaction we resolve it without delay. The party making these comments had...

Because we travel continuously for 4 - 6 months of the year, we travel on a 'budget' of up to $70/night, relying on Trip Advisor for our selection. In Taos, we could find nothing that we could confidently book without inspecting first. Our reviewing of Trip Advisor provided an initial short list of the Kachina and one other - we...

The hotel is quite old, the lobby and common areas are kept up much better than the rooms, which are old and dingy. The hotel was very noisy, with the housekeepers pounding on doors beginning before 9am (loud enough to be heard in the whole complex). I was placed in a room that was already occupied, but after that was...
