Tucked away in the Cederberg mountains, about a 3 hours drive north of Cape Town, these self catering chalets are individually decorated and offer standard comfort. What sets this place apart from others is the remote location and the superb typically South African hospitality of owners Thys and Karin and the beautiful natural surroundings of the Cederberg. Although I am...

A wonderful place to stay in the Cederburg mountains above ClanWilliam. Thys is busy creating his own piece of paradise for climbers, hikers, nature lovers and anyone who appreciates this beautiful area.

My partner and I stayed for 4 days in Dassie Den (one of the glamping facilities). The pictures do not do this amazing place justice! Everything was clean and they supplied more than we bargained for. The hosts are such a wonderful and warm couple; they even checked on us after we had left the place. Such peace and quiet...

The Olievenhuys bungalow is the perfect self-catering setting for a family whishing to enjoy Rocklands without sacrificing comfort. The pool which is shared with the bungalow from across the garden is a delight in the summer heat. The furnitures and the interior decoration provide an authentic 'Out of Africa' feeling.

The place to stay itself was nice (we camped directly in front of a small lake there), but the walk to the waterfal and the area around that place was just stunning!!! we enjoyed it so much! the bathrooms were clean, kitchen was...

My husband has wanted to climb here for years, so we added it to our safari honeymoon. We stayed here for about 5 days and rented the Womboohuys cabin; we were not disappointed! The staff was wonderful, the cabin was super clean and included plates and cookware so we were able to make our own meals. Although the tv and...

We stayed for one night with friends who were glamping at the Storytellers in Dassie's Den. The owners were really friendly and arranged a perfect camping spot with a lovely view of the stars. In this area you can perfectly try some boulders that are just a 10 minute walk away. The boulders start at 5 and there are enough...

We stayed in tortoise terrace which was the perfect spot for us, private with beautiful mountains surrounding the safari tent. Clean, tidy with a well-equipped kitchen and braai for self catering - and a hammock in the shadow for power naps after lunch. We visited rocklands during low season (beginning of january) and even though it was very (well, VERY)...

On the road between Clanwilliam and Wupperthal you will find this beautiful olive farm. Accommodation options are a room/s at the main house or a converted labourer's cottage about 200 m from the main house. This cottage have air-con and a built-in outside braai area. FANTASTIC. There is also a pool at the main house. The view from the cottage...
