I stayed here recently for one night on a work trip. The location is really off the 'sealed' track but what a fabulous location. Incredible walks and spots nearby. I was lucky enough to go for a work trip but loved it so much would consider going again for a holiday. The cottages are large, clean and very comfortable. great...

When you enter this part of the Cederberg you are on the threshold of some wonderful experiences. Whether you are here for nature, adventure, rock art of landscapes there is something for everyone. When you arrive at the camp you are at the start of a protected nature area. You can stay over at the camp or simply stop to...

We had a two night stay at Wolfberg Arch cottage, one of the 6 brand new modern cottages. Two bedrooms (one double, one with two single beds) and one bathroom with shower. Open plan living area with fully fitted kitchen. Braai on stoep with view of Cederberg.

Was awesome. Stayed in the new self catering cottages. Pics on the cape nature website do not lie. The place is lovely. Comes equipped with everything. You just need towels for swimming and bring extra loo paper. We spotted some baboons but as long as u keep your place locked when u away and don't display your food on the...

We stayed for 2 nights and there were only 3 pitches occupied so we had the site almost to ourselves (the best way to experience a wilderness area). This is an excellent campsite for its views, clean and tidy ablution blocks, shady pitches, hikes and swimming hole (very welcome after a hot walk). There is a large notice at the...

Arrived 1.5 hours early and had to go for a long drive to come back at 2pm. It's a shame they couldn't just check if the cottage was ready or not. Stayed in a small cottage Waenhuis about 5km up the road from the Algeria campsite (and swimming hole). The cottages are run from solar power and do not have...

I have been a regular visitor for the past 20 odd years but on my last visit in April of this year which may be my last, we left a day earlier. The house (below) that we booked was VERY badly maintained. The bathroom door fell off its hinges onto my mother (fortunately not injured) also the railings on the...

We spent 2 nights here with friends and had a great time. The stands are nice and spacious with adequate space for your vehicles and tent and the ablutions neat and tidy. There are braai spots where cooking fires can be made, a jungle-gym for the kids to play on and the crystal clear (and cold) river to swim and...

Algeria Campsite in the Cederberg Cape Nature reserve is a fantastic family campground, which will be further improved in 2015 by the addition of a shop and another ablution block (currently you can have a bit of a walk from some sites, and there are no shops in the area, so come well-stocked). The camp office sells wood. The site...

Algeria and the Cederberge is a fabulous destination! Unfortunately NO warning about the baboons exists in this campsite. After a morning of hiking we returned to find our brand new tent ripped open by baboons, ALL our food eaten and rubbish all over our campsite. It ruined a weekend we looked forward to for months! The camp management need to...
