We have stayed at Whalesong four times already, and every visit was a highlight. Whether one visits in summer to watch whales (and the whales are right on your doorstep) or in winter when the indoor fireplace and a bottle of red wine stimulates the cozy atmosphere, Lainy and Stanley always make us feel extremely welcome! They have created a...

This was our second trip to South Africa and Whalesong was the only guest house to which we returned (not because the others were not all excellent but because we didn't think we could beat this little gem of a place). It's position on the shore front overlooking Walker Bay was unbeatable and after 7 nights in Cape Town we...

Although the location and whales are fantastic at Whale Song Lodge we found our room to be a big disappointment. The reason for our trip was whales and although the balcony at the front of the lodge is a perfect setting the rooms at the back of the hotel only have a very limited sea view. As there is no...

We only stayed here one night after we did a shark dive in Gansbaai (we used Shark Diving Unlimited which was recommended and booked for us by Whalesong Lodge and was amazing). The room was lovely - we had a view of the sea and as the guest hourse was located right on the sea front we had an amazing...

During our trip to SA we stayed at a couple of 5 star accomodations, but the Whalesong lodge beat them all! The location is just great- we had whale soup in front of our balcony almost every day, with those wonderful creatures making their calming sounds day and night, so we went to bed knowing they are there. The rooms...

After a long long drive from Wilderness, we couldn't wait to check into the Whalesong Lodge and we definitely weren't disappointed. We stayed in a room at the front of the house which was just beautiful. We had the most amazing views from our bed and bathtub with also a small balcony looking out onto the sea. We even saw...

My husband and I stayed at the Whalesong for two nights. The first night we stayed in one of the smaller rooms at the back (very nice) but they offered to move us to one of the front rooms on our last night. WOW - amazing view! Really lovely room - tastefully decorated, beautiful tub and did I mention the...

We stayed at this guest house for one night in Dec & had a lovely time. 2 things made is particularly special, our friendly hosts & the unexpected apperance of 2 whales in the afternoon. Whale season normally ends in Nov. We stayed between Christmas & the New Year. We were really lucky & spent a couple of amazing hours...

We came to Gans Bay to cage dive with sharks. Had we known how wonderful this ocean-facing lodge is we would have stayed several days longer. From the moment we stepped in the owners (Lenee & her husband Stanley) made us feel really welcome. They were very exceptionally friendly and hospitable. We were offered coffee and met some of the...
