Fairbridge Inn & Suites Batavia - Darien Amusement Park
Ok budget hotel For the price point, it was surprisingly clean. The outside is dated and the room could have used some paint in a couple places. But I could tell it was kept clean - the most important feature for a hotel in my opinion. The curtains could have blocked more light. A couple light bulbs were out. The breakfast is not a meal. There was cereal, a couple bagels and some toast. I grabbed some coffee and then went elsewhere for breakfast. Disappointing because I specifically look for included breakfast when booking a hotel. Also the sidewalk was not salted by 9 am after an ice storm. Quite a hazard! I felt safe, but will choose another place next time.

It’s not as bad as some reviews but it’s also not very good. Definitely some residents of this hotel. It’s cheap compared to others. I’ve stayed at the quality inn across the street this one was better, room was moderately clean bed wasn’t horrible I did however pack my own pillows just incase.

As the other reviewer stated, the tv input needs to be reset each time you turn the tv set on. Our rooms had a mild smell of smoke, but you get used to it enough so you don't notice if after a while. The bathroom fan is really loud! But it works, so that's good. Other than that, the room was clean and quiet.

I’m not sure how this place has a very good rating. I was definitely fooled. My husband had a bad experience here several years ago, but I was in town for a concert and it was the cheapest in the area.
First off, the front desk clerk was amazing. She should work at a hotel where she doesn’t have to explain away what is going on in this place. We requested check in 30 mins early because we had just arrived in town. We were given room 100 at the far end of the hallway (one plus). As with all hotel rooms, I immediately check the mattress for any evidence of creepy crawlies. I was pleased to find both the mattress and box springs in brand new condition, completely encased in those zippered protectors. I unzipped mine to check the mattress, and found it pristine, though there were crumbs between this cover and the padded mattress cover on top of it. The linens seemed clean, so that was fine. Then I pulled out the bed… There I found a plastic cup, candy, and various food crumbs on the floor at the head of the bed. As I moved the bed, I saw a bug on the box spring. I collected it on a piece of paper and set my sister to work identifying it. (I thought it was roach, due to the presence of food) While she did this, I repeated the check on her bed. The mattress cover had some huge brown-ish stain on the side like someone had a bloody mishap, but the mattress itself was good. More food crumbs and such under the head of her bed. I’m the meantime, my sister identified the insect as a bed bug. We compared the actual bug to the picture online, and it was a perfect match for a male. Thankfully, we had not brought our things in yet, so there was not much to grab. In the shuffle Mr. Bug went missing. I pulled out the table and caught sight of him cuddling up between where the carpet and the 2” border of carpeting on the wall meet. I decided not to follow for fear of what else I would find. On the way out we checked the seal of the fridge, which appeared to be packed with dead insects and grime of all sorts. Thankfully, the front desk clerk took mercy on us and let me cancel the room after I showed her the pictures I took. She said they were renovating some rooms, and “things get stirred up.” (Sadly, she did not seem surprised at all.) This is not a mistake I will make again.

I would give this hotel a 1 out of 10. It was grunge. Faded purple sheets on the bed, bed was lop sided. Bathroom we got a handicap room(not requested but the whole bathroom floor flooded. Breakfast bar was disgusting. Nothing was sealed but put in individual cups by hand (their hands). Nothing was hot. No water in the dining area. Wall paper peeling off the walls. Looked like dump on the inside

I have stayed here several times going through NY. It's usually not a bad place. This time was different. Room smells. Air fresheners are wedged into the heater vent. Didn't help the smell. Half a roll of toilet paper. Bath only got hot for a few seconds. Plan on a Luke warm soak. TV didn't work. For just a few cents more I could have had an adequate room to spend the night. This was disgusting!

Sketchy, dirty and run down. Only stayed a night while on a road trip. Arrived close to midnight and there were some shady characters outside and in the lobby. Smoke smell (both cigarette and pot) in the hallways and common areas. Was given an upstairs room, no elevator and my husband had injured his leg, the kids and I had to lug everything up the stairs. No ice machine. Pool was closed. Our room had filthy carpet, splatters of something on the wall, and chipped paint. Beds were small but moderately comfortable. Shower was nice but towels were about the size for a toddler and we were only given 2 despite 5 people on the reservation. We skipped the free breakfast. Would choose a different hotel next time.

Do not stay here. At all. The only saving grace are the front staff was so amazingly nice and helpful. The property is borderline drug den. Look at the Google reviews. Our friends had rat traps under their beds and rat poop in their bathroom. We had so much dust and hair between the mattress and wall. Blood spot on the mattress pad. Fridge and tv didn’t work and staff were not able to help because it was a maintenance issue which is right. They say they are under renovations but there is no way. Also, second floor with no elevator. Walked into a bathroom with no toilet paper on the roll. Just the cardboard. Breakfast was bread and bagels with no butter or cream cheese. Milk and apple juice from jugs. Pool is out. Guest laundry out. All the sheets, blankets, and pillow cases had stains on it. So did the pillows. Halls smelled of smoke mixed with air freshener. Room a was wasn’t ready at 315pm when checkin was 3pm. Mold in the ceiling, walls, and bathroom tiles. Shower squealed when running. But I will say, water got hot fast and was available for days.

This place is is kinda a joke. The main hall way smells like pot. We were told a long term guest smoked in the room all of the time and they couldn't do anything about it. There was an issue with my account, my bill should have been 143, and it said I owed 298. They then charged me twice, and when I asked about it, the manager dismissed me, and just said "yeah, that's taken care of ". No explanation, no apologies for freezing up my money for the whole weekend. In fact, if I didn't check my bank account, I wouldn't have known until stuff bounced. The front desk clerk yesterday took a personal call while we were getting checked in, put it on speaker and had her conversation. She also went on and on about guests making messes, and her boss being mad if she makes guests check to see if the door key is working. (They're key card maker is broken). Then the same lady that dismissed me was at the front desk talking to someone about how someone else "F$@&ing works 40 hours a week and still gets f#$%ing food stamps." I wouldn't have a problem with the cleanliness or age of this place if the staff weren't trash. The room itself wasn't bad for the price. Cob webs on the ceiling, dirt in the corners, but it was like$63 a night, so I expected that. The jacuzzi was clean, but the plug was broken off, and rusty and set on the tub.

On 6/10 we booked a last minute hotel stay for our 5 year old and ourselves because we were going to Darien Lake for the weekend. Upon arriving to the hotel room and hotel hallway reeked of cigarette smoke as if someone was smoking in the hotel. This was addressed to the front desk attendant right away and she replied with “people break the rules all the time, do you want another room?” At this time the entire hotel was clearly infested with cigarette smoke and we wanted to get to our destination so we kindly declined. We went to the bathroom and there wasn’t any toilet paper. The bathroom floor was dirty and there seemed to be a splatter of blood on the ground. The bed had black hairs on it and there wasn’t a deadbolt to lock the door. The parking lot was full of loiters and people sitting in front of the doorway at all times even returning from the park at 11pm. When we arrived the side door to get to our room was unlatched, anyone could go in to the hotel which is completely unsafe and unsettling. We did not sleep but let our 5 year old get some rest before leaving early the next morning. Before leaving we showered and the shower went from warm to boiling hot, on our 5 year old. We couldn’t even finish a shower. The screens were falling off windows, glass and trash in the parking lot. Absolutely horrendous. We had booked another stay in august that was immediately cancelled after this. We couldn’t enjoy our stay, we did not feel safe and will not be returning. Called to complain to the manager, she asked for picture and email explanation without any followup.
