Interesting hotel - great decor of this converted factory, so vaulted ceilings that give an extremely spacious feel to the room. Atypical hotel - one person at reception, and granted still no housekeeping due to COVID, but had a great stay. The decor is minimalistic and quite industrial. Great spacious shower and amazing beds with a super comfy mattress. Air conditioning unit was quite loud and not super cool, even set at 70. Convenient stocked fridge with partial breakfast (OJ and La Fermière yogurt) to accompany the fresh baked goods delivered to the door in the morning. Even a packet of tissues and small bottle of antibacterial gel in the room.
My daughter and I stayed 3 nights recently, and there were several things that needed improvement. The toilet in the room was super loud and ran for 5 minutes after every flush. (I did complain, but nothing was done.) There were no towel rods in the bathroom, and with no daily cleaning, it’s very difficult to dry towels on the one rob hook provided. “Industrial chic” as they describe themselves is quite austere, with very little furniture and decorations. The two chairs in the room were very uncomfortable. Luckily the bed was the saving grace with a nice mattress and bedding. The Covid restrictions certainly played a part, and the in-room breakfast was convenient and safe, however, not extremely appetizing. Overall, it’s a decent hotel that is over due for some serious upgrades.
First off, Roundhouse is most likely one of the best places to stay in the Hudson Valley. Our room was clean, modern and overlooked the waterfall out back. When we checked in they informed us that the room won't be cleaned durning our stay. We both felt they should have informed us when we booked the reservation. Since we were there for 3 days, our room really needed to be looked after. We hadn't been away since before covid and to be honest didn't feel like even making the bed. Other then that , if your room isn't in the main building you can't park your car out front to empty your luggage- there isn't help at the door. Since we had been traveling before our arrival we had a lot of stuff and it was annoying to do it all. It may sound spoiled but we really were looking to be taken care of- we work hard and wanted the perks…
Had such a wonderful stay at the roundhouse. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and to top it off: incredibly stylish. The staff was really friendly and the to go breakfast was delish. Already planning our next trip back.
You’d be hard pressed to find a place like this 1.5 hours outside of the city in NY. What a fantastic hotel. Clean, modern, historical and great value. We stayed for three nights and found it fantastic. Free breakfast dropped off at the room/in the fridge every morning. Two restaurants on site that largely exceed the offerings in the area and a variety of room types. Larger more opulent rooms in the “roundhouse” building and nicely appointed rooms in the “mill” building. Great hotel to get away for a few days especially if you don’t like to search for a place to eat. Barry the food/restaurant manager was extremely hospitable and made sure we were satisfied at both restaurants. I will be back!
