The Brae Loch is a very charming Inn and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The people who work there were very pleasant and helpful, always greeted you with a smile and warm welcome. We got to eat in the restaurant our first night and the food was excellent with generous proportions. For breakfast there was a variety of choices, more like a continental breakfast with ability to heat items up. There was always coffee or tea available when wanted. Our only "complaint" are the stairs. A bit of a climb and not really suited for handicapped people or the very elderly, especially those in wheelchairs. The only other recommendation would be to have 2 comfortable chairs in the rooms to be able to relax in the evening to watch TV or whatever?

I enjoyed the decor and warm atmosphere. The lobby area with the fireplace is cozy and inviting. In the evening, the outdoor fire "pit" was lit. I'm sorry I wasn't able to take advantage. I was there for a wedding and the venue was perfect the wedding and reception. ALL personnel were friendly and accommodating. There were two disadvantages - it is not handicap accessible. Though you can gain access to the main level (not through the front door) there are no elevators for room access. As for the rooms, they were spacious and comfortable. The 2nd issue was that, though the bed was firm (to my liking), whatever the mattresses are made of, it made it difficult to move around (turn over) in the bed and get out of the bed. The hotel required mask wearing due to COVID. This was a good thing!! As an aside, a beautiful park and lake are across the street! If I'm ever in the area again, I would stay at this location.

Our favorite part of the stay is being able to walk down to dinner. The food is prepared perfectly and taste delicious, especially the pumpkin bread. When done we enjoy sitting by the fire and shopping in the gift shop.

My wife and I love independently owned and run inns, so the Brae Loch was an option we were psyched to try. It was perfect: friendly, fun, funky, unique, terrific in-house bar, warm, inviting lobby/great room, good continental breakfast and an unbeatable location down the street from all the interesting shops in Casenovia. Our room was comfortably large and a welcome departure from the cookie cutter boxes you get at a corporate motel. An inn also provides one with a more social experience than an air b&b and an opportunity to stay in-house for drinks and a meal. Highly recommend Brae Loch for a stay, especially if you can't go to Scotland. It's the next best thing.
