We have stayed here several times--most recently October 2014--and have always had a pleasant visit. The rooms have always been clean, cozy, and comfortable. Chris, the owner/host, prepares an excellent, delicious breakfast and has always given us wonderful sightseeing tips for the historical, artistic, and natural beauty of the area.

I've stayed in extremely fancy lodging (as internationally touring professional musician), crappy and not-so-crappy road-side motels (as internationally touring professional musician...) and bare-necessities rooming houses (backpacking through SE Asia and India). If you do not know the difference and are expecting a reasonably priced B'n'B in the Hudson Valley area to be a 5-star hotel, then you better check yourself....

The sheets were dingy (closer to dark grey than white!). They covered a door in the room with plywood that did not conceal any bathroom noises from the next room. Breakfast was good and Chis is very nice, but there was cat hair everywhere. It breaks my heart to say so, but stay elsewhere.

Pretty sure this is not an actual licensed b&b- there is no sign out front, no cleaning or turndown service, no documentation in the form of guides to town, room instructions, etc. The place smells like cat urine and is not clean. The bathmats look about 15 years old, the plastic shower curtain covered in soap scum, no individual bottles...

A pity this is the only lodging in town. The place needs a good cleaning, inside and out. There's no housekeeping and it shows. I'm an animal lover but seeing cats sleeping on the breakfast table is a big turn off. If there were an inspection by a B&B association, not sure it would pass inspection. Good wifi and breakfast.

I made a reservation without carefully reading the warnings on tripadvisor. I walked into the bnb while Chris was at work so I never met him and I let myself in. I cannot describe my horror. You are guided up a dirty flight of stairs that smell like ammonia. At the top of the landing are prison like rooms with...

Cleanliness an issue. Bathroom nice, but room very dusty, with noisy and ineffectual air-con. Huge, long haired cats eating food on kitchen work-surfaces a bit off-putting. 'Off-roading' to get to guest entrance, not advisable in smart clothes or shoes. For this price, it should be a lot better. Better to stay in faceless chain motel anywhere within 50 miles radius.

This is a nice B & B in a beautiful home with a welcoming host. Very close to charming downtown Chatham and well-located for all this area has to offer. Our room was very comfortable and had a large bathroom. Reservations were very easy to arrange and Chris was quite responsive. We will definitely stay here again, and will recommend...

The innkeeper Chris is a lovely man but he needs some input on how to run a good b&b. Either that or he needs to lower the price. When you first encounter things that are not right, you don't feel comfortable staying in the space. We suggest: Hire a cleaning lady and a manual laborer and Put a lighted sign...

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others. There are a couple cats and they stay out of the rooms. If you are extremely allergic to cats, probably not the best place for you. If not, they are totally well behaved. It's a nice old building and we found it very comfy. I...
