This was the most relaxing, romantic and delicious place we’ve ever been. The staff and surrounding towns were so kind and helpful. There’s quite a few things to do in the area, but not need to even venture out. The sauna, jacuzzi tub, hot tub and fireplace is all you need. Probably the best breakfast we have ever had ever!
I was looking online for a secluded and intimate getaway so I could propose to my now fiancé. I came upon The Fern Lodge on many different travel sites, and read numerous reviews that were all excellent. We decided to book this unique lodge because of its in-room amenities and waterfront view of Friends Lake. The lodge itself was very romantic and serene. Susan, Sharon and Greg were very warm and receptive to all guests. The complimentary breakfast each morning was delicious! The Fern Lodge went beyond our expectation, I would definitely recommend this beautiful property to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. We plan on returning in the future.
Everything was so perfect. We eloped here and then had a mini moon after for a few days. It was truly the most fun and relaxing time we’ve ever had. Everything we wanted/needed Sharon got us and more. We loved every minute. Thank you guys so much for everything!!
This lodge has all the makings to be an amazing experience but fell completely flat with lack of execution, detail, and communication between hosts and guests. My boyfriend and I booked the Forest Guest room (listed as the most luxurious and most expensive room) for our anniversary. Before arrival I emailed the host Sharon to notify her that I have a service animal. No response and I had to reach out to confirm she had received his paperwork. Upon arrival to the lodge , we were greeted into an empty large living space, no fire places going, no one around, just people's luggage packed at the front door. It took me having to text Sharon again that someone finally got to us. When we entered the room it was beautiful, tub, indoor fireplace. However outdoor our "private terrace" area was un shoveled and the small fire pit covered in snow and not cleaned up. Note the day we arrived was sunny and beautiful. As I slipped into the bath, the water in the adjacent shower began to back up and rise and we had to wait for Sharon's husbands to come and draino it. Later that evening we wanted to peak into the shared common space 10+ seat theater to find it locked. I gently knocked and no answer, knocked again, and was greeted by another guest "yeah what's up". His female companion was in nothing by a robe and they soonly left the theater after our encounter which completely turned us away from even being in that room. Later that evening around 10 we used the app system to ask Sharon if we could start a fire outside our room. After multiple calls and texts, she did not answer me until 7am the next morning, even though she lives on the property. Another detail in the morning was our breakfast was missing items requested on our form. Sharon did not acknowledge us in person not greet us goodbye. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 10+ years, I was shocked this is how you treat your guests in your Inn. While scenic and nice, not worth the $600 and made our anniversary a crappy one to remember by.…
My husband and I had the most wonderful long weekend at The Fern Lodge (about a 4 hour drive from Long Island). Sharon and her team were super welcoming and accommodating, but not overbearing. The actual lodge is amazing -- it felt like a picture come to life! We stayed in the Forest room which had a lovely fireplace, jacuzzi tub, steam shower, and beautiful views of the lake. There was no shortage of things to do in the lodge itself. We took advantage of the movie theater, pool table, sauna, and outdoor fireplace for roasting marshmallows. The trip was an absolute dream and we cannot wait to go back!
