We rented one of the six two-bedroom cottages for a week, as we did two years ago. The cottages are older and on the rustic side, very typical of many other places in the area. Everything is clean and just right for our needs. The owners are very nice and accomodating in every way. We appreciate their "pet-friendly" policy, which...

We stayed overnight while on a shopping trip to Watertown. The room was modest but spotlessly clean and the beds were comfortable. The air in the room was a bit stale, but we opened all the windows to freshen it up. In the bathroom, the towels were a little threadbare, but there was lots of hot water and good water...

Very few motels are open this time of year in the 1000 islands area. I am glad we were not charged more for the room, as even at the off season-rates, it was not a great deal. The rooms are clean and staff is very nice. The motel is a throw back to the 50's, and it would be very...

We phoned on the Tuesday night to book a room/cottage for the Labour Day long weekend (for two nights) and was told it was full. Got a phone call back the next day stating she had someone who originally booked for three nights but couldn't confirm the reservation. She asked if we wanted to go ahead to book the cottage...

The cottages are down by the water but the motel rooms are at the top of a steep hill. The gazebo is a great place for drinks or relaxing with a great view of the seaway. We ordered pizza and ate dinner out there and then had coffee there the next morning. Nice, clean rooms, reasonable rates, clean swimming pool,...

We stayed there this weekend. We showed up with no reservations. We took cabin #9 which is located near the water. The cabin was small and old but....very quaint for 2 adults. Large grassy area at every cabin, lawn chairs and a small propane grill at every picnic table. Each room has its own table. Very, very, clean inside with...

Recently stayed for an extended weekend and found accomodations very nice. It is more of a rustic cabin but was just what we were looking for in a vacation. It is located in a nice area away from tourists but close enough to find lots of activity in Alexandria Bay. The weather could have been better but was very happy...

We found this place online and since we have never been to the area, we took it. The room smelled moldy, the towels were postage stamp sized and were ripped and frayed. We stayed at a Motel 6 for 1/2 the price and was alot better. I would not recommend this place. I can understand now why they had so...

The location is fantastic, and the view is beautiful. Keeping in mind that we were in an older cottage we really expected things to be cleaner and more up to date than what we found. We were mislead to believe that we had a kitchen - we had a sink, a stove w/2 burners, no oven and a dorm sized...

This was our first trip to 1000 islands region - so, I have nothing to compare my stay to. That being said, the Fair Winds is not horrible, but you do get what you pay for. For $85 we had a motel room with 2 beds, a tv, fridge, and microwave. The pool was warm - and the views were...
