Our family simply loved this beautiful and charming B&B and Judy, the lovely host, made or stay just magical. She is lovely and welcoming and our breakfast was beyond delicious. Our room was lovely and the B&B is clean and comfortable. We do not like motels and this was everything we imagined it to be. Hamilton and Clinton are so charming so we wanted a charming B&B and that is exactly what we got. Judy is a Clinton native so she can tell you all of the places you need to visit. We highly recommend the Antique & Irish Welch House.

Hospitality and great service by the host filled the room with warmth. Judy's hygiene practice is impressive: the bedrooms are clean and tidy, and several dining rooms can accommodate guests staying at different rooms. The house is beautifully decorated, and it makes us feel like we are at home. A commercial hotel can not be compared with this sweet B&B.

I’ve stayed here twice and I must say that I agree with everything said on the previous review where the reviewer says “Run By a Lovely Lady, But a Very Tired Property” and gave it only two stars. The only difference is I give it 5 stars and agree that the house is “full of stuff” but I found it to be charming and I must absolutely strongly disagree that it was not clean. Every place in the house was clean and the “stuff” made me feel as if I was staying in an old friends house. I will also say that regardless of your feelings about the stuff in the house the hostess, Judy, will make up for anything negative. My mother at her most attentive was never as attentive to everything as Judy is plus she really does make you feel like it is your home away from home. Beds were comfortable and the breakfast is great.

My daughter and I stayed at The Welch House for a night in two different rooms. Judy, the owner, is lovely and her breakfasts are made to order and very good. The location of The Welch House is terrific. Very close to the town of Clinton and Hamilton College. Each room has a Kerig coffee maker and fridge with water and a pitcher of cream, which was a great touch and very welcome in the morning. However, the house itself is very tired and full of stuff - in the drawers and on the floor. It is almost as if you are staying at someone's home that hasn't been cleaned out in years. While we felt safe, we would not stay here again.

Gorgeous house with so much charm! Comfy bed, great water pressure, spotlessly clean and delicious breakfast! So many nice thoughtful little touches from coffee in your room to earplugs on the dresser. Absolutely loved our stay. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend the Welch Irish House enough.

Recommended. Lovely stay at the Welch House for an event at Hamilton College. Judy, the owner, has thought of everything you might need for an enjoyable stay. Delicious, locally sourced breakfast. Enjoyed the homeyness of the charming, historic house. Walking distance to shops and restaurants in the town of Clinton. Judy is a delight.

We have stayed in all of the B+B's rooms and find each of them lovely and appointed with all of the things that make our stay easy. The beds are incredibly comfortable and we always sleep like babies! A fireplace and refrigerator in each room is a treat too. The best part of each visit is the gracious host Judy! She is warm, kind, and welcoming. Judy prepares a delicious breakfast each morning that certainly starts the new day in fine style! With fruit, yogurt, sticky buns, eggs prepared to order, toast, juice and coffee you are surely full and ready for a day in the beautiful town of Clinton. She has guided us to fun restaurants for other meals and has made every visit very enjoyable. The Victorian family home is a real jewel with a front porch to enjoy on a summer day or pine paneled family room in the winter. We have loved every stay at the Welch House! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a home away from home feeling.

I visit a few colleges in this area each year and I use Welch House as my home base. Judy feels more like my sister (she also lives in the home she grew up in, she loves horses, etc). The rooms are gorgeous, breakfast is delicious and it's close enough to the high street to walk. Judy has spoiled me for her locally made yogurt and granola. I now pack a cooler so I can bring some home with me.

My husband and I were visiting Hamilton College for a weekend in January. The minute we walked in we felt like we were at home. The house is very spacious, beautiful and full of character. Our room was on the main floor, formerly a study. Very comfortable and well appointed. A big bonus was all the cookbooks! I did not want to leave. All the rooms have an electric fireplace which was especially welcome. Judy is an amazing hostess! Very accommodating. We had some lovely chats during our short visit. Breakfast was wonderful! The location is excellent, very near the college and downtown. Can't say enough about Antique & Irish Welch House. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Clinton or the area!
