My friend and I visited Cooperstown for a long weekend get away and were thrilled with our accommodations. The double Queen room we had was clean, had a great view of the lake and foliage, and was quiet. Check in was easy and Doreen was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider and second stay.
This was the first trip outside of Ithaca since before covid started. The Lake View Motel did not disappoint. From the first call my husband made to make a reservation to the morning we dropped the key off at the front desk it was a great experience. It was clean, well maintained and the staff was friendly. I will be making sure we tell all of our friends and also booking future trips at the Lake View Motel when we go back to Cooperstown!
Thank you Doreen for taking care of us and making sure we had an enjoyable staff..we stayed in cottage #17 which was plenty big enough room for the 2 of us... just a 10 minute ride to Main Street Cooperstown...stayed in the area many times and this was a pretty good place to stay...would come back in the future...how about it Doreen...any chance I could return during an induction weekend ...hopefully in 2021 or 22...I would recommend these accommodations..
My wife and I stayed here three nights in late September. The motel is on the side of the road away from beautiful Lake Otsego. Our room had a deck facing the lake, and at this time of year, there wasn't a lot of road traffic to interfere with the view. The room was not large, but quite adequate, and spotlessly, pristinely clean. There were a fridge and a microwave, which were really useful, since every restaurant in Cooperstown seems to determine portion sizes according to the tastes of a 13-year oid boy! If we'd stayed longer, we might have made use of the barbeque grills near the cottage, but as it was, we enjoyed leftovers for breakfasts and, sometimes, dinners. The paddle boats were closed due to the pandemic, which was disappointing but understandable. Sitting on the deck nibbling at snacks and reading our Kindles was a perfect way to enjoy the surroundings. The manager Doreen was very helpful with directions, brochures, local maps, and so forth, and made sure that we knew to call her if we needed anything at all. Which brings up the only minor issue: the TV service. At most places, I check the essentials (heat, AC, TV, Internet, etc.) when we first get to our room, but this room looked so wonderful that I didn't bother. So naturally, the TV service goes out around 8:30 pm. Doreen tried her best to get Spectrum out that evening to fix it, but couldn't. She offered to give us a different room for the evening, but we were settled in by then. Next evening when we got back to the room, it was fine, and Doreen gave a blow-by-blow of what Spectrum had done to fix it. So wouldn't you know it, it goes out again evening 3. This time, Doreen was able to fix it by swapping in a spare box. She did everything possible to make us happy, and we appreciated all of the efforts. But my only advice would be to check the TV when you first check in - if you have Spectrum service at home, you know what I mean! Great stay - highly recommended!…
My wife and I really enjoyed our vacation at this lovely motel right on Lake Otsego. We had a room with a deck facing the beautiful lake. They have their own private beach. We wanted a relaxing vacation and we had one. The room was clean and quiet with good WiFi and a comfortable bed. Located only eight minutes from downtown Cooperstown and the Hall of Fame. Special thanks goes to the manager Doreen who is very knowledgeable about the area and always willing to help.
