Stayed for 2 nights with 3 other families all with kids age 5 -14yrs. It was such great value for money. We travelled just an hour over the border from Canada and I cant wait to go back again next summer.
First of all the customer service from every staff member I dealt with at the hotel was fantastic. From the phone call at time of booking the room, emails back and forth with questions re: accessibility to the front desk staff and staff in the little café in the lobby, they were all really friendly, personable and professional. I was extremely impressed.

The wheelchair accessible room was on the main/ground floor really close to the lobby and was great. the only thing I would say is that carpeted corridors and rooms are sometimes hard on a chair but it wasn't too bad for just 2 days. The room was a little outdated, could probably do with a good paint job and refresh but honestly for the value for money it was just fine.

The outdoor area with pool and games set up (Jenga, cornhole, chess etc) was great for the kids after a long fun day in the theme park. The pool felt very clean and safe with 2 life guards on duty who were very diligent.

We loved having the firepit and BBQ area for the evening right by the lake, it felt like we were at a cottage, was such a pleasant surprise being at a theme park hotel, this was a highlight for me I think, such a great setting where the kids could fish and enjoy nature and the grounds are kept really nice and clean.

Just a short pleasant walk around the lake to the theme park was so handy and all very accessible for my husbands wheelchair. You can also rent mobility scooters at the resort and from the hotel front desk, this was a huge bonus. $45 USD for 24hrs. This saved my husbands arms getting such a work out on the second day around the park in a manual chair and made life a lot easier for us all.

I cant say enough good things about this resort, I am really looking forward to taking more friends and family back with us another time.

Not the worst we’ve stayed at but not the best either. Definitely old and tired location in Darien Lake NY. Check in was easy but we’re treated like prisoners as we tried to enter and exit this location. Because the entrance is shared with the campground, they’re very concerned about who enters and exits! Very annoying! There’s absolutely nothing around this hotel except 6 flags. Food and shopping are 25 minutes away so come prepared.

Well we have been coming for several years now. Things have changed. Entrance to park seperate. My husband and I don't ride, but we love to watch kids go on rides. Why extra. We love family reunion but cabins are very dirty and dusty. Couldn't turn fan on because dust flying. Cabins not in bad shape. Just need good cleaning. Shower has mold. Also wanted to say very happy goose poop cleaned up. Last year couldn't take a step without stepping in it. Very happy about that. In reality we love it there. Just a good cleaning and mopping cabins is what it needs. Ceilings have dust hanging. New blinds since some are very broken and very dirty. Also picnic tables are not useable.

Loud , rude people. Went until a little after midnight and then ramped back up at 6 am. Worst place I’ve stayed in upstate NY. I’ll never stay here again as even after calling at 12:24 am it still took the a hour to quiet the yelling teens running through the halls. Park is great but this experience was bad.

Beds are terrible. Not only are they uncomfortable but the box springs are broken so anytime anyone in the room moved, it woke everyone in the room up. Bathrooms are outdated. The elevator sounds and feels like it’s going to break when you ride in it. And the worst part is that someone wrote the N word multiple times on the elevator door and it has just been left like that!

Very expensive, very basic. Poorly staffed. No restaurant open on entire property. No housekeeping. Half the rides at the park were closed due to staffing issues. Pool is small. Concert venue was nice, but is cashless and their Apple Pay was not working.

We are Six Flag members, so we booked the hotel at 50% off. Which was a great deal at $158 for two nights. The room was clean, bed a little stiff, bathroom small, shower pressure great with hot water, & nice view of the pool area. The staff were very friendly. Short walk to the Amusement Park. Was worth it rather than driving home after fright fest.

Mixed feelings about this one. Sad because I really wanted to give this 5 stars. If we would not have had rude encounters with staff this prob would have been at least 4 stars. We stayed in the hotel in a standard 2 queen room. Room was spacious and standard but overall clean. Had a small refrigerator in room. Beds were not very comfortable at all. The mattresses were hard and bedding cheap. Being at the very end of 2 halls and quite far from the exit we were also the last room to have housekeeping. Came back to the room past 330 and it still wasn't done then got woken from nap. Oh well not too big of a deal. The park was very clean and nice rides. They really should, however, employ staff in the kiddie area that can assist toddlers. I have no problem helping my kid off and on rides and actually prefer it but if you don't let me in the gate to help don't open a door to a ride and expect my 2 year old to jump down 3-4 feet or get his own seatbelt off! Saw a concert and utilized the new family zone in the lawn. I cannot say enough about the security in this area for the Dave Matthews show. I would consider coming again for this reason alone. The female in security in particular went Above and beyond. The biggest problem I see here and the loss of 2 stars was rude staff. One of the waitresses at the restaurant questioned my sons age? Are you kidding me telling me he looked older than 2! That is because he will be 3 this month. I was not trying to rip the park off. We also got interrogated several times by the gate entering and EXITING the hotel!! I get the feeling maybe people try to "steal" from them in terms of sneaking into the park? Not sure why else they would act this way towards guests. The number 1 reason for this rating and now that I think if it maybe I should subtract another star is for the lady that works in the hotel gift shop! Yes management that is right the old woman who walks with a cane. Don't let that appearance fool you! What a nasty person. We were checking into the hotel and I had a full cart of luggage and a large stroller with fussy toddler waiting for husband to park the car. Said old witch decided she had to open the gift shop that was currently closed at that very moment so much that she couldn't wait for me to maneuver the 2 carts out of her way. She actually tried to push my stroller with my kid out of the way as I must not have been moving quick enough for her. Then she had to open 2nd door as if 1 open door into the hotel gift shop which I never saw 1 person go into wasn't enough and snapped at me to move the second cart. She then proceeded to complain to the front desk girl about all of the people checking in. At that very moment I considered checking out!!! Funny part of it all is that woman sat her behind in the chair in front of the shop and was still in that same chair 1 hour later when I walked into the lobby. All in all I would stay here again ONLY if I had a good package rate like i did AND was seeing Dave Matthews

We visited Darien Lake from July 15 to July 18. We stayed at the hotel on the resort.

The rooms: The rooms are clean. The first one we were given had a musky moldy smell. We simply asked for a room change and the problem was solved.

Hotel rooms: Are dated but they are clean. The beds are comfortable and so are the pillow. I think the rooms get musky and moldy because of ongoing wet feet on the carpeted room. If the carpets were removed I think the problem would be solved. Please remove your carpets.

Reception: One word "awesome". They are fantastic and well trained. They are polite and professional. They seemed eager to make our stay and as great as possible.

Pool on the resort: Clean and heated.

Lifeguards at the pool resort: They are well trained and friendly. They seemed to really care about the safety of all. They were not shy about ensuring that the children were safe. Meaning rules are enforced. It think this is a good thing.

Rides: There were no long line ups at the rides. The operators were friendly. No issues here.

Concession areas: Wish they were as friendly as the reception staff. I wish they would smile more and were nicer.

Water slides: There is room for improvement here. I saw many children get stuck in these rides. I hope they fix this.

Maria’s Spaghetti House: We ate here. I would not recommend it. The food was not very good and the place seemed to be in need of a really good cleaning. Food was more like bad cafeteria food.

Beaver Brothers Lakeside Café: We had the breakfast buffet. The fruit was not fresh. The scrambled eggs were horrible. All other breakfast items were delish. But I would eat here again. The wait staff were fantastic. The restaurant was very clean. Very nice restaurant.

Park Bathroom: The park bathroom did get gross. I think that they need to be cleaned more often. Please clean the bathrooms more often.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now. I would stay here again. Yes absolutely.

We bought a room from a friend who booked 2 in her name. She was told they were "special" because they were only for one night and on a concert night. The one room cost us $320. We truly expected a great room for $320 for one night, what we got was nothing even remotely close to "great". First of all, the room was DISGUSTING!! Our comforter had what could only have been blood on it! In more then one location there was some unknown brown drippy substance on the walls and door. We could not believe that for the price, the room wasn't clean. On the plus side, the staff and cleaners were very nice. I would never stay at this hotel ever again and would not recommend it to anyone.
