Visited the area to check out a local college, location was nice as well as the staff. We enjoyed the manager's reception and the cooked to order breakfast. The atrium had plenty of seating and it was very well decorated. Overall, the hotel was nice,...More
We stayed at the Embassy Suites over the Easter long weekend (April 2007). The hotel was quite busy, not surprisingly I suppose given the holiday. The hotel staff - everyone we spoke to was pleasant and helpful. However, I have to agree with an earlier...More
We stayed herre with our whole gym of cheerleaders for a national competition. It was awsome. The rooms were big & clean, the atrium was absolutely beautiful and the pool was great for the girls. For younger kids there is an arcade. The morning breakfast...More
We have stayed at the Embassy Suites Syracuse several times, and have never had a problem with it being dirty. The staff is always great, the restaurant isn't busy, but the food is good. The free breakfast and manager's happy hour are wonderful, especially those...More
Dear Scott Austin (GM of Hotel),
While often we travelers are quick to complain, I suspect we don't always give credit where it's due.
My situation is around 200 nights a year in hotels, and I can assure you that I have minimum expectations that...More

Ask management, I have seen several occasions with the Hilton chain of hotels where someone holds a function in either the common area (because embassy serves breakfast you could likely have a place to open presents/cake as well) or the pool which I saw used a party on a Saturday afternoon when I was checking in.
Time of day, day of week I'm sure will have an effect, but if, for instance you wanted 2 hours of pool time and (most important) other paying guests were not prevented from using the pool, you should be fine. Assure them the children will be well supervised and will be respectful of others.
If you are not already, become a member of Hilton Honors, if you are not already you can do so online and give them the card when you are checking in.
If all else fails, call and ask to speak to the manager (mid morning best time). Even if they want, or you can offer $50.00? as a facilities charge and want to add it to the bill, I would think the convenience would be worth every penny.
