Hotel is under renovations which I wasn't made aware of when booking.
Lobby had staining on ceilings, some buckets to catch dripping water. I had to wait over 5 minutes for someone to show up at front desk (sign on counter saying please wait).

Only 1 plastic cup in room and no coffee cups for morning coffee. When I called front desk to ask for cups for my room I was told to come down to get my own cups.

I had to call back to front desk later when realized there was no remote control in room for TV. At least this time they delivered it.

Because of renovations there was no wifi even though I was given the code. When I called back was told it probably was down so I had no internet access.

While my room had been recently painted with fresh paint, there was paint splattered on a chair, curtains and other areas in my room.

Lots of black marks in my tub/shower as well as splattered paint.

both night tables had lots of scratches on them and one drawer couldn't open at all. Everything was sticky.

While taking a morning shower there was a multi-legged bug crawling on the shower curtain.

The morning breakfast consisted of waffle, bagel, bread or muffin, & hard boiled eggs (which I didnt take not knowing how old they were). There was cereal there however no milk.

Only choice for coffee was a flavored non dairy creamer (French Vanilla), no regular milk or creamer or even fake powdered milk.

Lots of evidence of renovations going on around the property which made the place look like a construction site which it was and should have been closed until work completed and not open to rent rooms right now.

Just not what was expected at all and a great disappointment.

Horrible!!! Bathroom ceiling covered in mold, tub very slow to drain. Whole place old and filthy. Check in area was the only decent looking area. My room had a floss pick and cream cheese container on the floor. Also a blood? Stain on shower curtain. Go somewhere else!!!

We have been waiting over an hour for the internet to come on or to be moved to a room with internet. We were told the manager was working on it, only to find out the manager actually went home. Parts of the bathtub with screws were left sitting on the side of the tub. Whatever supervisor left knowing a guest was upset should be fired.

Very nice and newly opened hotel. Really appreciated all the assistance with my kids during breakfast time. Comfortable rooms at a decent rate. Cannot complain. Conveniently located right next to the highway.

The reception staff are great.
On the other hand, this hotel needs a serious renovation effort. It feels like the 70s. It doesn't look very professional. It's clean but it's not perfect either.
There is no stopping of doors so they slam, the doors leading to the parking lots are of another age and people block them with pieces of wood (Hello security) and as always in hotels “Choice” no way to take a bath following the (intentional?) absence of a system to retain water.
The breakfast is like what you find in this chain but the dining room is spacious.
For the price paid it's ok but one night is enough.

This is the worst hotel stay experience in my life, and I travel a lot. The promised wifi never worked. I almost triped on the staircase because the handrail was so dirty that I just did not want to touch it. I delayed washing my hair for one day so that I did not have to stay in the disgusting bathroom too long. I'd rather have my hair dirty for another day and go to the next hotel to wash it.

This made me feel the quality of Quality Inn has gone downhill.

Possibly the worst hotel stay I have ever experienced during many decades of travel. Our reservation was with the Comfort Inn Syracuse-Carrier Circle on Thompson Rd (booked 2 months in advance of our stay), and when we arrived there around 6 PM after traveling 8 hours through a slow, construction delayed day on I81, we were directed to the Quality Inn 5 minutes away as the Comfort Inn was overbooked by 26 rooms (I am guessing it was due to delays in their renovation schedule). When we arrived at the Quality Inn, there was a long line up waiting to check in as well as people returning to the front desk since their room wasn't ready (some were still under renovation, others were unclean and people would stay in it, while others room cards were not working so they couldn't get in). At 7:20, when we finally got into our room, it was old and dingy, with an extremely loud air conditioner. There was no Wi-Fi, nor free breakfast, and the room we reserved was for 2 queens, and they gave us a room with 2 doubles. All the signs and information in the room were still branded as the Ramada Inn, so this room had clearly not been renovated. Since the bedding was clean, we decided to stick it out as we were exhausted from the day.

When I got home and noticed the amount charged on my credit card was the full Comfort Inn amount which is currently $20 to $30 higher than the Quality Inn. When I called the Choice Hotels help line for a re-embursement of the difference, a case was created and after waiting a week for a response, I called the help line again to see what was going on. Apparently the hotel indicated they had no record of me staying there, so after explaining everything again, my case was escalated to a supervisor who indicated I would get contacted within a week to get my refund information, which happened. I actually asked for a full refund due to the issues encountered, but that was rejected by Choice Hotels.

The foyer area of the Quality Inn had been renovated, and looked quite nice, it just wasn't ready to accept guests. When the renovations are completed and with more staff trained, I am sure this Quality Inn may equal the brands levels. However, that maybe in several months away, but as of April 2023, this hotel was not fit to be open.

I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites East Syracuse on 5/3/24-5/5/24. I checked in on 5/3/24 at 11:21pm with a young lady named D. She asked for my ID and Credit Card. I handed her both, she confirmed my ID, and upon handing the cards back to me I started to put them away. She told me that she would need my credit card again so she could write down the number for incidentals. I watched her write my card number down and then she handed it back to me.
At 8:05 the next morning (5/4/24) I received an email and text notification from my bank stating there was a suspicious $229.03 charge on my card. Thankfully, my bank was able to block the charge and cancel my credit card. At 12:01PM that afternoon I called the hotel to inform them of the suspicious activity and explained the situation to the desk clerk, A. The manager was not in, so I left my name and number with him for J, the manager, to call me back. I didn't hear from J, so at 5:40 PM I called the hotel again. This time I spoke to R, the desk clerk, and he acknowledged that he was aware of the situation, but that J was going to call me. When I arrived back at the hotel at approx 7:10PM, I saw R, and while he was apologetic, he did not know why I hadn't heard from J. I informed him that I would be down to the front desk in the morning and I was assured that the manager would be available to talk to.
The next morning, 5/5/24, I went to the desk at 9:45 and A. greeted me. He informed me that J. wasn't in yet but would let me know when she was. I told him that I was going to be checking out at 10:15 and inquired if she would be in by then. As I was talking to him, he actually received a phone call from J, he conveyed the message to me that she would be in later, took my number and said she would call me. At 1:33PM I still hadn't received a call from J. so I called the hotel again. A. answered and said he had not seen J. yet and but thought maybe she'd be in in the next half hour or so. At 5:05PM I still hadn't received a call from anyone at the hotel so I called again. This time it was R. and he said that J. wasn't in but that he thought she was in before his shift started at 3:00. This time I was absolutely livid and was told that J. was not scheduled to be in for the next 2 days and that she should be in on Wednesday 5/8/24. J. was aware of a very serious situation unfolding and she ignored me.
When I arrived home from my road trip I called Choice Corporate and gave them all my information. There is a camera at the front desk that would have captured everything that transpired at 11:21PM on 5/3/24.
Richard Billings, Director of Operations for the company that owns the hotel, got back to me right away and assured me they would look into it. He also felt the need to tell me to "consider that there may be other sources at which your card was compromised in the meantime." I already know this obviously.
A week later I heard back from Mr. Billings saying he reviewed the camera footage and "The front employee did not write down your credit card but simply entered it into your profile on the front desk system. As I mentioned, I would suggest also other possibilities that your credit card was compromised." I asked to see a copy of the video as I do not believe this is what transpired the night I checked in, not to mention my card info should have already been in the computer since I booked the room online. It's now been 5 weeks and I still haven't seen the video that has been promised to me. I've been holding off a the review in hopes that someone would have taken my concern seriously. I also took photos of the horrible condition of the hotel. They put lipstick on a pig in this hotel. The hallway reeked of marijuana, the AC unit was old and didn't work so to cool off we opened the window. It didn't have a screen and led directly onto the rooftop, easy in or easy out, either way it was a huge safety concern. There was some kind of spots on the bathroom ceiling/walls and the breakfast area was atrocious. Do NOT stay here!!!
