If you want to have a chance to get away and reconnect, this is the place. You find yourself on well landscaped grounds on a wooded lot. A large country house appears as you round the curved driveway. The home offers a comfortable living room with a large stone fireplace. We were in a great bedroom full of updates and...

Beautiful B&B located about 3/4 miles outside of the village of Ellicottville, owners Linda & Rick were wonderful, friendly and informative. Rooms were large & bathroom had a jacuzzi tub which I took full advantage of. The only negative, which isn't actually about the B&B but rather the location, was difficulty in getting taxi service to or from the town...

We just got back from a long weekend at the Black Dog Lodge and we loved it. Linda & Rick are outstanding hosts - most friendly and welcoming. There was a large livingroom with fireplace to socialize and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. Breakfast was delicious and varied and the portions were enormous. We absolutely loved playing with the...

We have just returned from our second stay at The Black Dog Lodge and, once again, we were not disappointed. The Lodge is perfectly appointed and the hosts Linda and Rick always make you feel at home. This year we stayed in Beauty's Room which has a beautiful window looking out to the gorgeous snowy grounds. Linda's breakfasts are to...

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We will definitely go back. The owners Linda & Rick are such pesonable people! They really made you feel comfortable and at home. We had full fun of the house - wine, soft drinks, and waters always available. Wood stocked for a fire. Snowshoes available to venture onto their trails. The house was unbelievably clean! We stayed in...

We stayed at Black Dog Lodge for a weekend ski trip and everything about the weekend exceeded our expectations. We were allowed to check in quite early in the morning so we could drop off our things and change for skiing. The lodge was beautiful and peaceful and the views from our room were lovely. There were chocolates by our...

Linda and Rick Meister, the hosts of Black Dog Lodge are the most welcoming, and friendly people. The Lodge is very clean and tidy, beautifully decorated, and homey. It is a bed and breakfast and the food is amazing. The Lodge is only about a 15 min drive the Holiday Valley. We will be returning there hopefully in the near...

My wife and I recently spent two wonderful nights at the Black Dog Lodge. It was our first time in the area, and we had left the wine country for a visit to Amish New York. We did our research and chose the PERFECT place. Clean, warm, friendly, and quiet...just the kind of place we prefer to stay. Top that...

“Be sure to mention if you're new to the B&B experience and want a more isolated room. The Scottish room is off the kitchen & dining room where guests congregate early in the a.m.”

“Rick and Linda are fantastic hosts, and will even come into town to pick you up after dinner if you've had a few drinks. Book a room here, you'll love it.”

“take a downstairs room. We stayed in the Scottish room. Great views. Right off the deck. Off the kitchen so can get a little noisy in the morning. Beauty's room is off the gathering room at the other end of the house and looked very nice and private. Or you can always spring for the Master suite! Upstairs rooms were right next to each other and looked a little smaller. We didn't see the Dog House.”
