This place still radiates the fun, careless, fun-loving attitude ascribed to the Fire Island of the sixties. Very hospitable hosts. The right place to make new friends is the pool area.

My partner and I returned to Fire Island and Belvedere for the second time after three years. The palatial interior is opulent, fun, and whimsical. This guest house for men offered an end of season special for $50 per night. Well worth it. Our room had a private terrace with a magnificent view overlooking the South Bay and the south...

I usually came out on Wednesdays or Thursdays and stayed for a few days. The weather was always great this past summer. I stayed in several different rooms throughout the summer but my favorite ones were always right on the bay with the waterside decks. The "Sunrise Room" especially (I am an early riser). This is not the Plaza mind...

My partner and I had a great stay at the Belvedere. We stayed in the Cathay which was a little small...but your on fireisland and in one of its most incredible homes. Truely, the Belvedere is a living work of art...which is only enhanced by the bay which backs up to the guest house. My partner and I loved the...

Both my partner and I have been to gay guest houses all over the world some good some bad and some horrific. The Blevedere ranks among the horrific. While it appears to be a magnificent palace from far off, in truth it's a movie set that has been subjected to decades of the harsh elements of wind ,salt and neglect....

I find it suspicious that this traveler waited almost a year to post this, as for the condition, over the past few years we underwent a multi million $ refurbishment, including all new linens, flat screen TVs remodeled baths, and the carpets are carpets are steam cleaned at the beginning of each season and 1 tome during the season. Hallways...

I had a list of hotels and phone numbers for hotels in the Hamptons and Fire Island. As I was touring Manhattan on an open air tourbus, I called numerous hotels that were sold out for my night. The Belvedere said they had availability, but was I aware that this is a gay hotel. I said 'I am not gay',...

This guest was told when making the reservation that this is a "Gay clothing optional resort for men only' and replied "thats OK I'm straight but I'm cool with you people. that was also his response when he arrived with a woman at 6 pm on saturday of July 4th weekend, and we told him the again that women are...

I had heard that this place was legendary, and boy do i now understand why? as one of the few clothing optional male resorts left in America, we felt so free at The Belvedere. It was great to meet friends out by the pool area, jacuzzi together and unless you need to eat, there's no reason to leave the premises....

I stayed at the Belvedere on Fire Island last summer with my partner and I have to say it was one of the most exciting guest houses we have stayed in - EVER. The architecture must be seen to be believed. Think Caligula opulence all throughout. However the most fun part about it is how the grandeur of this place...
