Please do yourself a favor and move on to the next hotel on your list. It’s hard to know where to start— the dank, musty smell in the room; the sticky wall to wall carpeting, or the huge cockroach walking across the ceiling over the bed.
We stayed for 2 nights on a Tuesday and Wednesday in September. The hotel was not busy. Our King Room 211 contained a coffee maker and had a comfortable bed. The room was clean-and that is important. Towels are prepackaged in a set of bath, hand, and washcloth. I think that is more appropriate for a swimming pool. When we needed just 1 bath towel, the front desk had to give us a whole set... The first morning our phone rang at 5:15 AM for a Wake Up call that we did not request. We were here for a relaxing getaway, and we were not happy to be woken so early. When I went to get breakfast I talked to the front desk young lady. She really didn't have any answer (I suggested left on from a previous guest...sent to the wrong room), and although she said she was sorry...it was not sincere. We requested a room change to the other side of the hotel because odd number rooms have LOTS of Interstate 84 noise. At night it was OK because we used the sleep timer on our TV to block the noise...but I wasn't about to put the TV on at 5:15. The young lady said there were not any of "our type" of rooms on the other side and we couldn't move rooms. I accepted her answer. We were also located next to the elevator. That was no issue at all on this trip, as the hotel was very empty...but it definitely would be on a busy weekend. Avoid Room 211!! The next morning the exact same thing happened again. Phone Wake Up at exactly 5:15 AM. This particular morning I was never able to get back to sleep. The good side of that is I saw the most glorious sunrise...so there was that!! When I went for breakfast there was a different front desk girl there. She also was not all that sincere in her apologies...and said there was no wake up call set for our room. I have no reason to not believe her...but it definitely happened. My guess is that since this room is located next to the elevator on the noisy side of the hotel it is not used very often. Lucky us... The Bag breakfast is a small water, pastry, and granola bar. Napkins are not in there...but there are Kleenex in the bathroom. I believe there are also donuts and napkins located in the main lobby...but we didn't want any more sugar for sure! The TV in the room is quite small. Also, the remote is not set up for the TV...so the picture is only using part of the screen. This is not a big deal, but we were here for a relaxing getaway so we were more aware of the TV. So...to end our trip, when we checked out the girl at the front desk (same girl as that morning) was very apologetic and sincerely sorry for our two days of 5:15 wake ups. She still had no idea why it was going off, and her records did not show any wake up calls at that time. I believe her. It was not another guest room calling, as it had the same click that wake up calls have. We were appreciative of her checking into it, and sincerely being sorry...so our trip did end on a good note. We would stay here again if we were in the area...but would NOT stay in an odd # room on future visits.…
Extra requested items in room upon arrival without reminders. Any further extra requested items given without an issue, with a smile. Bed was very comfortable. Front desk attendants were very attentive and pleasant. Great location. Overall, I felt very safe and comfortable. These are future suggestions, not complaints. I had a great time! Pillows were too stuffed. Hot tub in room, instead of part of bathroom, made the room humid, and it was hard to sleep due to that. Layout of room was strange. Could have had a tv on other side of room also, so one could watch it from the couch or the hot tub. Need grab bars in shower. One desk attendant didn't wear a mask, and didn't comment when another guest didn't wear a mask. I miss the breakfast buffet, especially if I'm paying the same price. The grab and go bag, while nice, wasn't an equivalent substitute. A buffet is still possible if there is an attendant portioning out the food. There were many better breakfast options, that could have been offered under the circumstances. At least some fresh items or some protein or something I could take back to my room to microwave. I have blood sugar issues, and it's hard for me to eat sugary pastries for breakfast, which will make me crash in an hour. I need protein to start my day. Being that this hotel offered that pre-covid, it was a let down. I did take some free donuts though for my kids. Expanded breakfast options are a factor in choosing hotels I stay at, so I don't need to waste time looking for places with a fast decent breakfast, which is often hard to do, especially if I'm in a rush.…
Check in was quick and easy, as was checkout. Overall, customer service here is a positive. The internet worked very well. The bed could have been more comfortable, but to each their own. My one annoyance is this. It is 2020, Quality Inn. There is no excuse for a hotel of your caliber not to have a small microwave (that you can purchase for $30-$40) in every guest room. You're saving money by not having hot breakfast during the pandemic (and obviously not lowering the rate based on what I paid), so instead of lining your pockets with the money you are not paying your distributor for these hot items, buy some $30-$40 microwaves. Yes, I know you have it in some of them. Not good enough. This is not a $200 purchase per room, management. While I have provided four stars (because I reviewing the hotel as a whole), I find this one annoying fact as an unacceptable deal breaker for me to return in the future. Yes, I know you have one in "some" rooms. You're not a Rodeway Inn, you're a Quality Inn.…
We stayed a couple of nights during COVID. The staff is excellent - efficient and friendly. Careful thought was put into COVID (towel packages wrapped); no hot breakfast, but "to go" bags were available in the morning. We choose to pass on room cleaning as we didn't want anyone in the room. All staff was properly masked. We had a king suite that was large. There was a couch in the room that squeaked every time you sat or got up- it was comical. The towels are in need of replacement (very thin). The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linens were very nice. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. Everything was working properly. Lighting was good. Shower was good. It was fine. The staff was really friendly.
