The minute we met our guide Albert we knew we were going to enjoy our stay at Somalisa. Somalisa is EVERYTHING an adventure loving yet comfort searching explorer could wish for! The camp was rustic, well laid out, the staff were genuine and hospitable and the accommodation.....where to start?! The King beds complete with hot water bottle to warm your...

Somalisa Acacia is the smaller of the two Somalisa camps in Hwange National Park, both operated by top-notch African Bush Camps. They are adjacent to each other. These are both up-market camps, and I spent 5 nights at Acacia recently. Over a month-long safari in Zimbabwe, this (and the two other ABC camps I visited) were my favorites. The other...

Dear Louise Thank you for taking the time to review Somalisa Acacia and what a glowing review that was! We are glad to hear that you had a good time at three of our camps in Zimbabwe. The staff in is always looking to make our guests feel completely comfortable and at home. Somalisa Acacia has recently undergone a rebuild...

Somalisa has managed to retain the bush camp feel with the perfect level of comfort and luxury with its new makeover. The staff are friendly and courteous, the animal sightings, especially around the 'pool' in camp are incredible. The guides are absolutely some of the best in Zimbabwe if not Southern Africa. I would happily recommend this lodge as the...

This is a magnificent place. The employees are ever smiling, the place is so clean and well organized. I was quite impressed of their hospitality. I recommend it 100% to families with children. It is a shame that it is not well advertised in Europe as most families look for such packages. My family had a fantastic time there and...

Spacious tented villas in remote area. While there is electric power, there's no TV, WiFi or phone service. You really get to / have to be able to disconnect. We saw lots of wildlife- elephants, lions, zebra Cape buffalo cheetahs and birds. Food was ok, nothing exotic. This was a great rustic camping experience. Elephants would come to the water...

Dear Peter Thank you for your review of Somalisa Camp. We aim to create an environment where our guests are able to feel totally at home, relaxed and unwind without the pressures of the modern world. The wildlife and sitting around the 'bush television' that comes in the form of the light from the flickering fire is more than enough...

We have just returned from a week in Hwange National Park. We spent the first three days at Somalisa Acacia Camp. It was amazing. The camp was renovated in February so the brochure details did not do the camp justice. The tents are beautiful. Long verandas immediately in front of the water holes. Beautifully furnished with copper rolled topped baths....

Dear Roger Thank you for your review of Somalisa Camp! We are very proud of our rebuild and we have just completed the build at Somalisa Expeditions in keeping with the more rustic camp style of the old Somalisa. Somalisa Camp boasts 100% solar power and we are currently recycling 80% of our water. We are delighted to hear that...

Hwange (at least in July/August) can be a dry, dusty place... but Somalisa is an oasis. Staff was fabulous, service impeccable, wildlife outstanding -- ESPECIALLY the elephants who frequent the water hole (and the POOL) each day.
