Vacation of a lifetime. Guide was superb and extremely knowledgeable. Staff was always available and friendly. Game was plentiful and easily accessible. Drive in was tricky early in the season. Power was limited to a few hours per day and only at night for an extra cost... which will definitely be worth it during the hot months,

Had such a fantastic break at the lodge. Road going in was not bad, quite fun to drive. Saw loads of game on the way in and while staying there. Treated at the camp by the managers and staff who were brilliant and really treated us like superstars. We were the first guests in the camp for the start if...

Having spent 6 days in the Zambezi ABC Lifestyle camps, I was looking forward to a little luxury for the last 2 days of holiday in Zimbabwe especially when told that the lodge had air conditioning! This was essential in the heat of October. It is hot, on average about 40 degrees. The camp has the makings of any 4*star...

Nestled on the banks of the hippa and crocodile infested Zambesi River, Chikwenya lodge offers great views of the distant mountains in Zambia. The lodge is connected to civilization through a nearby airstrip with frequent connections to the capital of Harare. We used Executive Air from Charles Prince Airporrt in Harare. We spent our time fishing Tiger Fish on the...

Chikwenya has the best site on the lower Zambezi for game viewing and fishing - it really couldn't be better However for $454 per night per person per night it is horrendously over priced for what they offer The rooms have serious structural issues in the bathrooms The food was very average Boats are in shabby and fishing equipment below...

Spent 4 amazing days and nights at chikwenya with my husband and three children. Staff was on a first-name basis with my kids, food was delicious (even for a vegetarian), and the sights were awesome! One night, just before dinner, we all hopped into a safari vehicle to watch a mother leopard eat her dinner - a fine catch. Elephants...

It was some years since I had visited Chikwenya To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The rooms whilst spacious were In a sad state of disrepair. The general state of the camp was rundown and certainly not worth the exorbitant prices to stay there. We tried the pontoon type fishing boats to be greeted by a cheerful guide...

We spent three nights at Chikwenya and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The road access is not good though and we were in a rugged 4x4 vehicle but its not for the faint hearted! The game viewing is the best we have ever experienced and our guide Kaz was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He conducted walking tours (armed) which were very...

“Upgrade to presidential and you will feel like kings. Kids should be old enough to enjoy what the experience is about and respect that people are there to be at one with nature. Ours were 9 and 11 and they loved it but we expected them to do what ever we did not the other way around which they did well.”
