This is the sixth Wilderness Safaris camp we have stayed at and it superseded all our expectations. For anyone who wants to experience the real, untamed African wilderness, this is the place to go! Elephants browse quietly in front of your tent and one night a lion ambled through the camp as we were about to eat dinner -- not... More

What a camp - this is - with very new tents and what a relief in 40degC to have a fan! Good food, staff and guides - and a nice change to do a waterborne safari - with ellies crossing just by us. Would recommend.

We have been at 7 different safari camps in Zimbabwe and Botswana in the past 7 years. I would rate Ruckomechi right up there with any of them and as far as the beauty of the setting, it is the best. This camp sits up on the bank of the Zambezi river valley proper over a large flat that always... More

I visited this camp at the end of a hectic trip and it was my 9th safari. It's a lovely camp in a beautiful area. In its own concession outside of Mana Pools. The elephants and wildlife visit frequently and it has a wonderful outlook. The benefits are also that it can conduct boat trips on the Zambezi (which the... More

I stayed at this camp for 5 nights and could have stayed for weeks!!. The tents and common areas are drop dead gorgeous. My tent was so comfortable and luxurious. I enjoyed a parade of elephants past my tent during down time almost every day. Listened to leopards, hippos, lions, baboons and hyenas at night! Food was excellent. My guide,... More

Ruckomechi is a great high-end camp on the banks of the Zambezi river... Elephants are a daily and nightly occurrence in camp. You can literally sit on the deck (or bathroom) and watch elephants play in the river with mud baths and crossings over to the little island in the middle of the river. Food, service, and accommodations are all... More
