I am sure at one time the hotel was a beautiful place, and could be again. Right now it is just scary. Stains and roaches in the hallway, squeaky floors, unlocked front door with a ripped screen door. Luckily we only needed the room for a few hours to catch the ferry in the morning. And we were able to... More

There is a stain on the carpet in the hallway. The carpet is being replaced April 7th. The carpet in the room the guest stayed in has no stains and is less than a year old. But we do NOT have roaches. The building is a historic building that is 180 years old, so a squeak in the floor could... More

We've started here before and find it a good value for the area. This time we were pleased to be in a renovated room; a great improvement over our lat stay. The room was a very good size but oddly, there was really no place to put your stuff - not in the room or in the bathroom (but we... More

I am going to have to agree with the other travelers when I say that the Townsend Manor has rooms that are in dire need of updating. With this said, we stayed in the Gingerbread House. I also agree with the other reviewers when I say that the outside of this quaint house could use some renovating, When we arrived... More

My friends and I had booked a wine tour in the area and were looking for a place to stay overnight before heading back to NYC. All the hotels within the general vicinity were already booked or closed for the season, so we decided on the Townsend. Its location is excellent and within walking distance to restaurants and shops, but... More

Very old looking buildings, covered in dirt and a rusty sign for the hotel. A power washing would go a long way, as well as a paint job. The hall way where we stayed had a musty smell, but quaint look. Our room was older looking in the bed area with paneling, but the bathroom section was very nice. You... More

Although tempted,a very good rating may be generous, but you have to take into account where you are. This is a quaint little town with more of a New England feel than Long Island. All of the home have that 1850s look. Frame 2 and 3 story dwellings with porches and wooden railings and a new trendy Ritz would just... More

The Townsend Manor Inn is a fine place to stay if you're tired of the corporate hotels surrounding the area. It's located right next to the Marina and within several blocks of the downtown area. It's a reasonable walk so if you're handicapped or don't care to walk more than 10 minutes you may want to drive in. There was... More

I enjoyed stay at the Townsend Inn. The room I had was newly renovated. The decor was simple and elegant. It was very clean nod had plenty of fresh towels, toiletries, coffee maker, refrigerator, only two faults....no hair dryer and breakfast was not included. The cost of the room was $250.00 with tax and no aaa or senior discounts.
