We are living in Manhattan for my husband’s work and needed a quiet getaway for Columbus Day weekend. We chose this place on the recommendation of a colleague. Also they have a pool and include breakfast (very important when you have two young children’s and don’t want to go I search of breakfast in the morning). Also one of the last reasonably priced hotels in area. Walkability was key because we don’t have a car and loved being able to walk to all the restaurants (loved Lucharitos) carousel and shops. This is a tough time for small businesses and we have seen some bad behavior and the reviews these types of people leave. Small businesses deserve respect and accolades for staying open and coming to work and this review needs to count. We will be back soon!

Room Tip: The water pressure is amazing! This is the best spot to stay for walkability in town.

The Greenporter Hotel is very clean and quiet, which is a really big deal for me! Very nice pool, friendly staff and the bed was very comfortable. I usually have to sleep with earplugs when I travel because of the noise but not here, feels like I was sleeping in my own bed!

Stayed here for a girls getaway for my birthday on 9/10/21. The room was tiny. Bed was a full, not a queen like advertised. Blankets were well used and dingy. Cot was not usable. Place needed an upgrade. And to boot, they have cockroaches. Yes. Cockroaches. When we called the front desk the manager promptly told me she needed to search our room with annoyance in her voice. When she came up she demanded to see the roach (we flushed it) and told us we are mistaken "in the country we don't have roaches". I grew up on Long Island. I am no tourist. One, we have roaches everywhere. Two, Greenport is not the country. Three, I know with 100% certainty what a roach looks like. She then told us at 10pm, two female who had been quietly drinking and relaxing, that it be best if we LEAVE. She then went downstairs and called us another hotel and told us to hurry and LEAVE because they close at 10. It was 9:50pm. She claimed "if I saw a roach I wouldn't want to stay here so I think it's best you LEAVE. ". Again. 2 females at 10 pm. Get out because we have roaches. And we are lying about it. The place was sub par at best and I would never recommend to anyone after the treatment we received. The manager needs a lesson on hospitality especially at almost $400 a night.

Dear Amy, Our friendly staff is highly trained to clean our guest rooms according to the highest COVID standards and they are also trained to recognize any type of pest. Our first priority is the safety and health of all guests equally. All and any pests are promptly removed from our property so that surrounding guests may be assured that that pests will not interrupt their otherwise enjoyable stay again. Have a wonderful weekend! "

The owner should take a lesson from her staff!! They were wonderful!! She is very nasty and aggressive because we had our radio on by the pool!! Meanwhile we had it on the day before and everyone had a great time and even commented how nice it was to have some music on. We were scolded like to children and told that everyone was complaining about it. There are no signs that say no music and it was on low. This was a clean place but nothing extravagant just a no frills motel with an owner with a bad attitude!!

Dear Michele P and Deborah: Thank you for complimenting our clean rooms and nice staff. Our registration form requires that you agree to the terms of our social distancing policies which include other people’s personal spaces. We list NO AUDIBLE MUSIC OR PHONES CALLS in public spaces so that all other 75 guests around the pools can enjoy their own music on their ear phones. We are an intimate, family property where guests come to relax. There are many properties in the area with a party atmosphere but we are not one of them. Thank you for your feedback.

My husband and I spent a night at the Greenporter to anchor our trip to the North Fork. The location was excellent, and the staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful in making recommendations for our stay. While the hotel is not a 5-star luxury property, it was perfectly clean and perfectly comfortable -- they followed all Covid precautions, and we were quite impressed for our first stay in a hotel in 18 months. While there are more "boutique" options in the area, for the money you really can't beat the Greenporter -- we will be returning, without question!

Dear Amanda, Thank you for taking the time to review our property and recognize the hard work of all our staff from the friendliness of the front desk to the efficiency of our housekeeping team. You may not realize that we are one of the last family-owned hotels on the North Fork and although we offer many amenities -- we never refer to ourselves as a luxury property and are priced at almost half the price of the "luxury" properties in the area. We are a solid 3-star hotel that offers clean rooms, a wonderful pool in summer months, as well as complimentary breakfast, complimentary-on-site parking and complimentary wifi. We also do not charge a resort fee or other hidden fees which is now common practice in the area. We look forward to welcoming you
