This weekend me and two friends were in town for a wedding . After driving for around two and a half exhausting hours [context: city dweller], we arrived at our chateau for the night. I will admit that I was not quite sure what to expect with all of the mixed reviews...BUT I will say this, the staff is friendly and courteous. This place was really a great option. It is at a central location near a few roads that connect to other towns, close to multiple gas stations, town shops, and grocery options. And with few options in for miles, I thought it was pretty reasonable priced. This is not a boutique brand hotel that you may be able to find in other further towns, but it's clean, quick and friendly.

The place is on the bottom of the scale. We had reservations, when I pulled in the place looked like something out of a work camp. I asked to see a room , nothing like the mngt pictures bugs in the bathtub, old window AC, so small you would have to go outside to change your mind. I asked for a cancellation, but was refused. We left. I would rather stay in the woods. Lost $105 but no way could stay there. Recommend you stay away

The hotel owner is very kind and even loaned me silverware. This is a cute place to have a nights stay, quiet and pretty outside area. Room was nice. There could have been a bit more cleaning in the hidden areas. Bedding and bathroom were clean and fresh. Overall, nice for a quick stay.

I stayed at the Holiday House Motel in Ladysmith, B.C. for two nights in December, 2018. I had stayed there twice previously without concern, other than very loud traffic noise. This I had expected, given the location next to a highway. On my recent stay I was very disappointed with both the current quality of the accommodation and the manner in which my concerns were not addressed by the management. The first night I hardly got any sleep due to an extremely noisy bar fridge. I brought this up with the front desk. They said they would look into it. The second, upon my return in the evening the floor was soaking wet from the faulty fridge. At 9 pm at night they said I could change rooms if that would be suitable. I had to be up at 4:00 am the next morning so this wasn’t viable as an option. The next day a called to complain about my stay and was met with very little interest. I asked for at least a partial credit and was told the person couldn’t authorise that. I called back three more times over several weeks and was immediately directed to an answering machine. I left 3 messages that were never returned. Very unsatisfactory. I would recommend people not support this establishment if that is the kind of customer service they are prepared to offer. Very disappointing.

I always look for the most economical "sleep cheap" when I travel. This was it. The cheapest room was the smallest motel room I have ever seen. It didn't even have a desk! There was no space for one. Many people would be put off by the outdated appointments and the quirky way repairs have been made - switchplates cut in half to fit a corner, gloppy caulking here and there, etc. However, the hostess could not have been friendlier or more kind, eager to help with any needs - such as coffee and supplies. And though the room was cramped and repairs funky, it was clean and spotless and smelled good and the linens were perfect. So if you are like me and just want the least expensive and clean place to sleep, this is it. I would stay there again - and ask for the cheap little room on the end!
