My wife and I love the Finger Lakes! We lived in the Finger Lakes for a few years right after we were married, and we have been coming back regularly almost every summer to enjoy the wineries and scenery.

We have stayed at a number of places in the Finger Lakes, and for years we stayed at a nearby motel regularly. When it changed hands we were disappointed with the new operators and decided to find someplace else to stay. We have been to the winery here a few times, and we decided to try the Inn.

To say our stay was beyond expectations is an understatement! We were blown away! The William Miles Suite was so perfect! Lots of room, comfortable bed and generous sitting area and bathroom! A great view of the lake, but most of all such wonderful peace and quiet! The gathering area which is shared by the other room was well stocked every day with wine, cheese, crackers and fruit as well as the continental breakfast that appeared in our personal refrigerator every day. It was almost magical when this all appeared because you never heard anyone tending it!

We enjoyed the wine selections at the tasting as well and went home with a few bottles. We went to the boathouse which has a small bar, but we preferred to sit on the grounds and view the lake.

We noticed a gentleman who seemed to be keeping track of things around the property, and while we were sitting on the patio we flagged him down and had a conversation with him! Doug is a great guy, and when he was telling me the history of the place and all kinds of interesting facts I finally figured out that he was the owner. My wife and I really enjoyed listening to him. Such a low keyed, down to earth guy with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Doug and Suzy (who made my reservations and did our tasting) were so accommodating and friendly that it really made us feel welcome and wanting to come back!

I really didn't see any ghosts, but I think I felt the presence of them in the room one night. Maybe it was Doug's stories of his experiences that put the ideas in my head, but it sure felt like I was feeling some energy one night.

Also a real plus for this place is you have to search for the TV! We didn't bother .. didn't need to!

So, do you think I would recommend this place to you? I do, but don't pick the days I want to come back to stay again!

So, if you ever happen to be traveling around Seneca Lake Wine Country be sure to cruise down Randall Crossing Road. At the end of the road you will arrive at 168 Randall Crossing. This is the home of Miles Cellars Wine. Your first sight will be a wonderful elegant old mansion beautiful landscaping and a great view of the lake. The Miles tasting room and in fact the whole house has been restored accordingly to the time period of the mansion. The hostess and her peeps are warm and welcoming. We are very fond of Miles wines. I am VERY fond of their Wisteria slushy!
My husband and I spent the weekend at Miles Inn. We stayed in the Drakes Landing Room. I cannot say enough about the comfort and care the owner provides. Continental breakfast was most delicious and afternoon snack leaves nothing to be desired. We had a great time at Miles Wine Cellars and Inn.
When you visit, remember to ask about the history of the building and the resident ghosts! Oh yeh...have a slushy!

Because of the scenic view we decided to stop and visit on June 30. The place is small but I was impressed by the wine they had and bought a case after tasting. Loved the Call me A Cab and Ghost. The ghost bottle idea is a really cute idea. After visiting would like to come back and stay at the Inn. Thoroughly enjoyed!

A beautiful Greek revival house where the staff and family are incredible! The location on Seneca Lake is second to none and their wine is some of the best in the region. Even if I don't stay there again (definitely will if there's vacancy) I will make sure to stop by just for the experience.

If you want to visit the vineyards of the Finger Lakes region, the Inn at Miles
Wine Cellars is a perfect retreat at the end of the day. This historic Greek Revival inn is lakeside with a beautiful boathouse and dock complete with bar, table and chairs for relaxing over the water. Set amid 150 acres of its own vinyard, it is peaceful. The
Inn has only two guest rooms, and both are beautifully appointed. However, I recommend staying in the William Miles Suite which is enormous and beautifully appointed with a sitting room and luxurious bathroom. The Drake's Landing room is nice, but very small and its bathroom is down a flight of stairs. A common room nearby is very comfortable. Continental breakfast is served each morning and in the afternoon a bottle of their own wine and snacks are laid out. We liked to relax on the dock in the evening with our wine, and also we dined on our private patio at lunch, which was really special and delicious. The inn owners were very accommodating and so friendly. We felt like we had a second honeymoon and would definitely return. This experience was very special!

The setting at the foot of the hill by Lake Seneca is just gorgeous. The gravel lane down to the lake is quite long but worth the trouble. They have a neat lake overlook with a bench by a 200 year old wisteria vine that is great for taking pictures overlooking the lake. The mansion where the tastings are is almost 200 years old and rumor has it that ghosts inhabit the the place so they have a ghost wine in a very unique bottle that reflects a ghost when light is cast upon the backside of the bottle. They even let you keep the classy wine tasting glass! Best of all our tasting sever, Bob, was incredibly competent serving 10 customers a once, very entertaining and knowledgeable. Definitely a home run in my book.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at the “The Inn at Miles Winery” There are 2 rooms to reserve “Drakes Landing” and “The William Miles Suite” both on the second floor. We chose the Suite for our stay. Very clean and expansive it includes a separate sitting room and nicely appointed bathroom. As photos show, the rooms furniture and decorations reflect the Inn’s earlier days.
As food and drink are not allowed in the rooms they share access to the”Gathering Room” This room includes tv, table, chairs, seating and a desk, turned sideboard. On this a Keurig and cups, sweets and each day, at 4pm , a small cheese/fruit tray and fresh bottle of Miles wine. There were also 2 small fridges - 1 assigned to each room . Cream for coffee could be found in these and sugar packets on the table.
A simple breakfast was found in the fridge of our room for the mornings. This included yogurt, fruit, a sweet of a kind and small bottle of grape juice - locally sourced. The baked goods were all very good!
Parking was on site and separate from those visiting the winery. There is a lovely boat dock on Seneca Lake with a small bar. The bar wasn’t in use during our stay. Be aware that to reach this it’s a bit of a short steep walk down - and up - an unimproved hillside path. Persons with challenged mobility may not be able to make the trip.
A small complaint - perhaps we missed something - but charging our devices seemed something of a problem overnight. Wall switches seemed to turn off wall outlets, as well. Or maybe, it was the work of the ghosts!
The proprietors were most friendly and accommodating . We enjoyed our time at The Inn at Miles Winery and look forward to staying there again in the future.

We happened on this place while driving through Penn Yan. It is the only winery on Seneca Lake - the rest are all set back from the water. Not sure why because the view is absolutely gorgeous! The mansion was built in 1798 and they have done a wonderful job keeping it in shape. The tastings rooms and retail space is housed there. We tried several wines and beers. My husband liked their Scottish Lure ale and their port wine. I like lighter wines so their trademark wine, Ghost, was a favorite of mine. They also were making "Blushies" the day we were there, which is blush wine mixed with ice and powdered sugar. It was the perfect sipper on a warm and we sat on the porch enjoying them. There is a wisteria vine that over the years has grown into a tree. Unfortunately, it wasn't in bloom yet so we'll have to make another visit to see it (and sample some more wine, of course). :-)

My wife and I stayed here for an extended weekend to have some alone time away from day to day life and the kids. Well, we couldn't have picked a better place. Scenic views, romantic grounds, great wine and a homey feel. Suzy, the owner, goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She is very thoughtful and generous. We stayed in the William J. Miles Suite, and other than the bed being a bit small, it was perfect. This place is full of detail and charm. I highly recommend it!

This was the last winery on a guided wine tour. What a great welcome and venue! The tasting was professionally handled, and we all bought wine :-) One of our party spent money in the gift shop and was happy with the different products on display.
A recommended stop on your wine trail.
