I've lived in Madagascar for 3.5 years. Having stayed at Sakatia Lodge several times I can confidently say that it is the best diving experience in the region. The dive centre is very well equipped, Jacque is a super passionate and knowledgeable dive guide, and there's so much to see. The flouro night dive is highly recommended! Will enthral even...

We were part of a group, and we stayed in the smaller cottages that was beautiful and cozy. Dinners was fine and served by the friendliest staff. Breakfast is not the typical fry-up and consist mainly of fruit, cake and eggs of your choice. Management advised us not to drink water from the tap, so we had to buy. This...

Resort is remote and only accessed by boat - which is the best thing about it. Run by a group who are most obliging to guests, it is really best experienced over several days so you can get to know them and the pace here. Dive, dive, snorkel, trek, dive... There's little else to do but relax and enjoy their...

Stayed there 3 nights and I would very much recommend it. -Food will vary, will depend on catch or what they get at the market. And very well prepared. -Service is very personal, attitude extremely friendly. -Offers lots of actitivies. Diving, snorkeling (the turtle sanctuary is right next door) -Occasional lemur sightings around the mangotrees Price wise, not the cheapest...

I would highly recommend the diving and if you get the opportunity try the Fluorescent night dive. You won't be disappointed as in my 10+ years of diving it's completely different to what I've ever seen before. You would expect different animals and activity on the reef at night, but seeing them under theses different lights was surreal. It's was...

We didn't stay here overnight, but this lodge is beautifully located and looks very good. The island of Nosy Sakatia has a wonderful beach on the backside and sea turtles were swimming on the other both times we went. We came to the lodge for lunch twice, and I must say we were not pleased with the service, particularly the...

Sakatia Lodge run by a multicultural family, each bringing their little touch and experiences. Jose, Isabella, Sandra and Jacque. Portugues, Italian, Dutch and South African.... We were welcomed with a spiced 'ice tea' with rum. The rooms are with real African touch and Isabella's design sensibility from her Italian genes I assume. She takes you through the place the way...

We took 2 rooms in Ramomasy villa & were lucky that the third room was not taken so we had the whole villa to ourselves - a bonus indeed. The staff are super friendly and helpful. My husband and son did their NAUI diving certification with Jacques, who is a very experienced diving instructor. They both passed well too.

This is a real gem. Food is incredible, set menu in the evening with some of the best fish you'll eat in your life! Most amazing welcome from the excellent staff who have a wonderful manner. Expect to pay an extra 120 000-150 000 ariary ($35-45 at time of writing) per person a day on top of your board for...

GOOD BITS Lovely position on an unspoilt Island, only approached by the Lodges own boats, views were lovely and the room were very nice indeed. The local staff were lovely, kind and considerate. Food was primarily local fish, chicken and on the last night a lobster. The diving instructor Jack (Jacques) was very very good, explained everything and most attentive....
