Zulunkhuni River Lodge is one of my favorite places in the world. The people, the food, and the accommodation are all wonderful. The location is second to none. I can't wait to return to Malawi and this incredible place.

Most beautiful part of Lake Malawi we had been to & great to experience some rural village life. Zulunkhuni River Lodge is not luxury accomodation, but more of a way to meet local Malawians in very comfortable & clean accomodation. The food was good and there were some beautfiful walks. It was also well worth a walk into Ruarwe to...

While a little off the beaten track, Zulubkhuni River Lodge is worth the trek in all respects. The views are only surpassed by the lovely owner and his staff, who went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable. The surrounding area, particularly the river itself, was a delight to explore, and the unique environment set it apart...

Rustic, eco-friendly and the warmest welcome from Charlie and Rosa, the owners. Splendid hiking. Great food. Unbeatable location. You simply have to see it to believe it! Going to Malawi? Don't miss out on this amazing place. You regret it if you do.

I visited a long time ago (2010) but as someone who has spent a lot of time in Malawi over the sat ten years this place is very special. Sadly because of the Ilala timetable I only had one night here but the place was great. The setting is amazing and beautifully blended into the local bush and cliffs. This...

Possibly the nicest place I have stayed at in all of Africa. Not only is the lodge itself beautiful and unique, the owner (Charlie) is an awesome guy willing to show you around, the location near to the waterfalls and the lake is gorgeous and the village Ruarwe (20min walk) is delightful. Campsites built on the rocks above the water,...

We were warmly welcomed at zulunkhuni and couldn't speak of it more highly. It is a piece of heaven on earth. Surrounded by waterfalls, natural slides, adventurous hikes, cliff jumps, snorkel locations and a home made zip line (all free) it's on the top of my list of coolest places ever. Prepare for a no electricity holiday which is so...

Been there like twice. Went there with a friend of mine whose based there. And i won't know if he ask me to visit him again. The waters of Lake Malawi was just fresh. Country really deserve to be called The Warm Heart of Africa.

We loved our two nights here. We traveled via the Ilala ferry, which was a great experience, but unfortunately limited the amount of time we could spend there. The lodge itself is remote, beautiful, peaceful and wonderfully built across the rocks. It's in such an amazing setting, with great views. We particularly enjoyed hiking up the nearby river to the...

After a quiet night in Usisya (access via an OK in dry season to bad in wet season) we decided to hike to Zulunkhuni, not believing the time the lodge says we thought we would manage the walk (I estimated 15-20km in 3-4 hours, how difficult can it be right? Any way the hike is fantastic, along the lake shore...
