It appears at first sight on cresting a hill as a strange building on top of a rock outcrop. It is when viewed against the landscape an attempt to blend in with the colours and shapes of the backcloth mountains. The long drive to the Camp after leaving the dirt road is bruising. Reception is up some steps and through...

We have just spent two special days at Doro Nawas and can't recommend it highly enough. The views are amazing, the room extremely comfortable and spacious, the food delicious and the staff kind and courteous. We especially enjoyed the bush dinner - quite a feat to set up in the middle of nowhere! We were also lucky to be there...

Like in Kulala desert lodge, the staff is very polite, helpfuul, always laughing and singing. The translation of the menu in the language of otjiherero or Khoekhoe is very amusing. Very good food, with a lot of variety.

We stayed 3 nights here in total. Mainly because it's just a five minute drive from Wilderness Air Airfield Hub, which we used to visit Hoanib Skeleton Coast and Serra Cafema Camps. The camp itself is fine, the rooms are large with veranda areas outside, and they have a safe for valuables. The views from the main complex are really...

What a beautiful place and again a ‘Wilderness Safari’ Lodge. The Lodge itself sits on the top of a hill and in the heat it was a bit of a climb. The accommodation was in the form of a very large thatched tent. It was really comfortable and despite the heat seemed fine – there is no air con in...

This was one of the best locations of our Namibia tour. The setting of the lodge is spectacular, with a 360 degree view overlooking the valley and mountain ranges. Staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The way the dinner menu was presented in 'click language' was a very thoughtful detail, fortunately the translation was provided too. The...

Wilderness Safaris excels again. This time with Doro !Nawas. We were met by the staff singing a welcome song, followed by a very informative briefing. Dinner was very good and quite innovative as well (can you imagine a pizza skewer?). One night, we got a wonderful presentation of our dinner in the local language. That is when we realized that...

We had a great stay at Doro Nawas. After a loooong drive we were met with drinks, cold flannels and wonderful singing. The rooms were beautiful, and we enjoyed sleeping outside one night. Another unique desert hotel (see Le Mirage). Not just a fantastic desert location with great views and rooms (with beds literally under the stars if desired). The architecture and décor is dark and moody and blended in with the sparse and dry landscape, and granite mountains. What makes the Doro Nawas Camp such a charming place is that it is...
