Let me say at the outset that the Lower Zambezi can't compete with South Luangwa for wildlife sightings - you will see much more game in SLNP. What the LZNP offers is a more rounded holiday experience, dominated by the mighty Zambezi, and Chiawa is...More

We had chalet/tent 8, quiet, private, spacious, comfortable and well furnished with a good view over the Zambezi. But it was perhaps the staff and the service that sets Chiawa apart; nothing was too much trouble, you did not have to ask it just happened...More

At Chiawa Camp, how would Tent IX (in June or July) function or feel for a family of 4 where the kids are older teens? Is the bath private at all? or open? I'm just thinking through logistics, although it seems stunning. Also, how is the interaction with wildlife at IX vs 7 or 8? Finally, my D is very excited to fitch. Is that an option during the day? instead safari? a standard activity? The place looks amazing!

Thanks for your questions. TIX (the new Safari Suite which opens June 1st 2017) will appeal primarily to couples (and families with younger kids) wanting more luxury, privacy and space. My recommendation is that for families... More

I just read that John picked up a family, as they would have missed their connection, due to a flight delay. My question is....I am spending the night in Lusaka on 6/22/15, as my flight doesn't get in until 9:10pm, so I miss the last flight into Chiawa. Is John for hire to pick me up in Lusaka on 6/22/15, so,that I enjoy another day with you? I doubt it but thought I'd just ask. I follow all,of your reviews on Trip Advisor and my agent, Aardvard Safaris all speak soooooo highly of you that I can't wait to experience Chiawa for myself. I can't wait. Thank you very much for your reply and I will see you next month. Susan Babcock Travel agent is Aardvark in Solana Beach, California
