I generally don't write reviews, but I feel I must to counter the scary reviews. My daughter and I stayed for one night at the end of August. We had a large room with a king sized bed, and a seating area with a sofa and coffee table. The bathroom was also large. Everything was absolutely clean. We saw other...

This hotel has seen better days. The lobby needs updating, there is a slight musty smell and the breakfast leaves much to be desired. That said, it's affordable and comfortable. The bed and linens are fine, the room size decent and the bathroom adequate. It's a nice location at the top of the main street in Hudson, close by to...

Upon arriving at the hotel and exiting our car we were immediately hit by the overwhelming stench of hot, rotting garbage. Once checking in and getting to our room, we were affronted by a strong stench of cigarettes. I paid for a non-smoking room and that is clearly not what I was given. In addition, to the terrible cigarette smell,...

One of the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced. I knew this would be no 5 star experience by any means and in fact had stayed before last summer and found it perfectly adequate, however this time it was simply terrible. My room was absolutely freezing when I arrived in the late afternoon/early evening and I switched the aircon off...

On hot summer days the stench from the dumpster for the adjoining apartment complex wafts into the entrance of the St. Charles. Think of a sickly sweet decomposing squirrel. The staff at the front desk was nice but the manager was nowhere to be found. The hotel hallways and rooms are very dark. The paint in the bathroom was peeling...

My wife, our two children, and myself were in town from out of state for a wedding. Not wanting to stay at one of the many local motels, The St. Charles Hotel was the only "Hotel" within a 1/2 hour drive of Hudson. Upon check in I immediately sensed that something was wrong when we were the only vehicle in...

The hotel its self is very old but it's been well kept. The owners are very friendly as well as the front desk staff. Close enough to walk to just about anything in Hudson. Italian market and Debbie's lil restaurant are very close, both nice little places to get a good bite to eat.

Though mildly less expensive than the other options in town this place is beyond depressing. We felt like we were in a transient hotel. Doors slamming all night long, tv blaring all night long. An odor of heavy Pinesol permeates everywhere trying to cover something up...scary!

We booked at the last minute, for a summer weekend, and the St Charles was the only place we found with availability. We were nervous after reading the reviews…so our expectations were low. Given that, the place was fine for two nights. The room was clean (a priority, maid service excellent), quite large, with windows onto the park. The bathroom...

If you would like a Clean Room, a vanity higher than three feet six inches, Ice, Coffee, an eatable breakfast, assuming you will eat anything, or something from a Vending machine, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO STAY. However, if your up for the adventure of riding in a banging rattling elevator, your in luck. You can enjoy all that...
